I didn't know about this sensitivity thing...mine is at default and I feel sluggish when looking around. I know it will make control when aiming more difficult but I am going to need to play around with that setting.Last edited by Flystripper; 11-09-2011, 10:18 AM.Dyslexics are teople poo...

I think I need a level of at least 4 to be able to check my flank quick enough. Now that I'm comfortable at 4, I might see if I can handle 5. Stuns/Flashbangs are in short supply until you learn the maps.Originally posted by falafel View PostI feel like it helps (at first) to treat the game like you were there in real life. I doubt you'd go running into a room or a alley without having your gun up, or without checking both directions, in real life. No need to play overly cautious (cause that's no fun), but at least get in the habit of constantly checking your flanks to avoid kills from behind.
Also, always check your corners! Always. I tried watching a match where I went 23-2 in 4x speed. It was almost nauseating.Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

That's how I did it. I liked that I could move faster while stunned with a higher sensitivity, so I pushed it up. I played at 10 for a week or two, but backed it down to 9 and that seems about right.Originally posted by falafel View PostI think I need a level of at least 4 to be able to check my flank quick enough. That was pretty funny. IIRC they were camping a lot in that game. I noticed a fair amount of camping overall, but that's going to happen with any of these games, especially when they're new.Originally posted by nikuman View PostIt will come.
Admittedly MW3 is not a groundbreaking change from MW3, but it does fix a lot of stuff. Not once last night did I get frustrated because somebody was camping incessently or noob tubing or any number of other annoying things. One thing hasnt changed, though: people still don't know how to play domination, as evidenced by the stretch we went on last night. Nice of everybody on the other team to point out their high k/d while losing by 100.Not that, sickos.

Do you badasses use special controllers, or are the regular ones sufficient? Also, does a good headset add any significant tactical advantage, or is it mostly for talking smack?"In conclusion, let me give a shout-out to dirty sex. What a great thing it is" - Northwestcoug

I use a normal one. No need for modding. A good headset makes a world of difference in play, and it's worth it for the smack. I am no good at smack, but there are more than a couple here who are all-pro. They could completely suck at the game (not that they do) and I'd still want them on my team for the outrageous humor value.Originally posted by DU Ute View PostDo you badasses use special controllers, or are the regular ones sufficient? A good set of headphones (not just a communicator) is incredibly important to me. Directional sound makes a huge difference. Surfah, you're going to regret those stereo phones.Originally posted by DU Ute View PostDo you badasses use special controllers, or are the regular ones sufficient? I'm not all that good, just decent, but I use the regular controller. That said, these look interesting and I want to try them: http://www.kontrolfreek.com/FPS/Kont...-FPS-Freek.aspOriginally posted by DU Ute View PostDo you badasses use special controllers, or are the regular ones sufficient? The amount of sound engineering that is put into COD is phenomenal. The headset is absolutely a huge tactical advantage. Well, I guess it isn't so much the headset as it is the surround sound. There are advantages to headsets, cut out background noise, distractions, etc... The biggest benefit is hearing the direction of footsteps. Your brain intuitively understands sound cues and can relate those to distance and position. As such you can predict on sound alone when an approaching opponent is going to walk into the room, and from where. You can get that with a surround sound stereo system. Headphones are more affordable than that though.Last edited by lambdacoug; 11-09-2011, 10:54 AM.Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. I have both and headphones are better for this application.Originally posted by atheistcougar View PostI'm not all that good, just decent, but I use the regular controller. That said, these look interesting and I want to try them: http://www.kontrolfreek.com/FPS/Kont...-FPS-Freek.asp

They really beefed up the sounds in MW3. Everything is meatier, if that makes any sense.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I think the guns actually sound muffled. I like the clear, crisp report from the Scar-H and big boom from the Barrett in MW2. Compare the .44 Magnum in MW2 with the Python in BlOps and that is how all of MW3 guns sound to me.Originally posted by nikuman View PostI have both and headphones are better for this application.

Voice, really? I can't say there have been improvements, but I could hear everyone last night like they were on the phone with me.Originally posted by atheistcougar View PostI think the guns actually sound muffled.
