  • It looks like they will have at least 2 map packs and possibly 3-5 depending on feedback. The first 2 Xbox paid to have exclusive for 30 days before they are released to the PS3.

They are saying they want this game to last 2+ years before they release a new one.

That's because it takes about two years to get the next game ready. Activision has put them out every year so far bc they have two game studios doing them, alternating years. Since modern warfare has become more popular than the wwii versions, they've set it up as its one franchise.

Who knows what the next one will be like though, given the dispute between activision and infinity ward.

I'm excited about the new map pack, but pissed that it will cost $15!
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

However if you are focused on getting a nuke and the other team plants the bomb the games can be a lot shorter than TDM. So it all depends I guess. To be honest we prolonged the game a bit so that Cam could try and get it. We knew we would win so we let them plant the bomb.
Interesting. It seems like most of the people who get nukes do it on Domination (at least on Youtube) but I kinda think that's chickenshit unless you can consistently get a nuke like every third game - otherwise, helluva job with the team concept. I got really lucky when I got mine on TDM - I got a chopper right away and then spawncamped while Hot Lunch, JIC, etc held down the fort in other locations. It is certainly very doable in TDM, but it's not easy. I got nuked in Rust once during a FFA game when I first started playing - I have no idea how the dude did that.

We played Rust yesterday FFA as well. A guy went 30-4 and won in less than 2 minutes. I have no clue how he did it.

            • i have three nukes, only really tried for a total of three or four days. two of them on demolition, one on domination. i don't think it's any less difficult to get it on demolition/domination than tdm. on tdm, a strategy for a nuke is run around (and get 7 or whatever close range kills) until you get a killstreak, then hide way the hell away from gameplay. i feel like demo/dom requires a bit more strategy, in that the people camping/defending the bomb or flag are looking for you; they don't run around like in tdm, you have to go find them. for example, my nuke last night was in derail. i was using a barrett and thermal. the first round, i got up to like 19 or something after my chopper gunner. then, i went to the big warehouse in the middle of the map and played really conservatively (claymores, changing spots after every shot, constantly checking my flank) until i got it. i got it pretty quick, i'd probably say faster than a tdm game. i had a nuke on favela that was the same way. i went 104-33 in that game, but waited until the very end to use it.

While I am really jealous of you for getting the new maps early, I'm much more happy that I don't have to deal with glitched matches like these:

I can wait 30 extra days for new maps to avoid the inevitable glitches that are to come.

I was thinking of that too, these new maps are going to have some serious glitches. By the time PS3 rolls them out I am guessing they will be fixed.

ha, that is great. I thought playing on my 47 inch was nice. Now I can't imagine playing on it.

It is just on another planet as far as gameplay. About the only drawback I have seen is that I get vertigo a little easier, esp if I go more than about 5-6 days without playing.

I have a 32" television, so I just get really close to it to have the big-screen experience.

How do people do such glitches? And how can we rip off their testicles and feed them to an alligator?

haha i do the same. 1337 has a really nice 32" vizio, but i still sit less than 18" away from it. even when i have my glasses on, i still have to squint when i'm that close. i guess the style of game i play depends on seeing tiny movements. and then shooting them.

btw, i play on a 20" emerson crt that is awful/fantastic.

See? It works great. Plus, as a bonus, you get to work on your tan.
