OK, we finished S1 and are starting S2. This serie is incredible! We both love it. Outstanding acting, characters, writing, and production values (the logistics of filming this would be fascinating to see).

But I will say, watching it has been an emotional journey. The most traumatic experiences of my life have occurred in ERs and ICUs. Some of the scenes give me PTSD so bad I have to turn it off for a bit to collect myself.

Agree on all counts. As i think i reported three years ago, after her bad accident my wife was in the ER of the East Bay's primary trauma center. They did a great job making sure she was stable and doing well, but occasionally her nurse or doctor would be called away to attend to other crises, including a dirt bike accident victim who was rushed in on a gurney while EMTs were performing chest compressions. Within a few minutes of his arrival he was pronounced dead a few feet from where we were, and we heard the attending tell his wife and mother, followed by their heartrending reactions. I feel indescribable respect and gratitude for ER care givers.

Yeah, I can't imagine dealing with that stuff on a daily basis but somehow they must adapt to it.

The ability of a team of ER staff to quickly diagnose and treat so many issues so quickly is incredible and fascinating to watch.

        • I am a bit bummer that the season ended on E6 for AKotSK. Seriously. That is not a season!!!

Learning more about Maekor has been interesting and I look forward to the growth of this show. The statement he made about the death of his brother will follow him and dunk the remainder of their lives is true. It impacts Maekor as the King of the Iron Throne. Also knowing that he raised his boys and his wife died young shows how much he loves and see Egg as his final hope to raise a child to be a worthy heir to the throne. Although his older brother in GOT was also an honorable heir but opted to not take the throne. I am also excited as they dive more into the life of Dunk as there is rumblings of Brienne of Tarth is related to Dunk. Also looking forward to se how they connect the Baratheon clan with Lyonel.

Egg and Dunk have great chemistry.. Look forward to more seasons of this show.. Now it is onto the House of the Dragon this summer.

                  • Two new HBO shows are promising so far:

DTF: St Louis. Jason Bateman, David Harbour (Hopper from Stranger Things) and Linda Cardellini (she's in everything but you don't know her name). A murder mystery set within a bizarre love triangle. Like in Severance, everyone is kind of dumb, but I can't figure out why yet. I'm assuming the writers are making a point about modern society and attention but not sure. Just for fair warning there's some brief nudity, and there are clips of dick pics and gay porn involved in the investigation/research scenes. Three episodes in and it's becoming a nice little mystery. This one's definitely not for everyone but I think some here would like it and I suspect it will be a water cooler show soon.

Rooster: Steve Carell plays a successful writer of beach reads whose daughter is an academic at a small liberal arts college. Her husband (Jamie Tartt from Ted Lasso) cheats on her and Steve's character uses a reading as an excuse to visit and try to provide comfort/advice. Rory Scovill plays a dipshit cop who steals every scene he's in. The main attending from Scrubs plays the President and he's pretty funny. Two episodes in and it's clear the show is influenced by Ted Lasso and Shrinking. I'm not sure if there are writers/producers in common but I would bet there are. For JL, definitely less swearing than Shrinking ha ha.

If there's well-placed thighs obscuring male naughty bits a la Heated Rivalry, I can hack a lot of male butts. But the brief nudity referenced above better be worth it.

It's cops looking at graphic stills of gay porn.

The female nudity comes at a cost that I can't explain without spoiling but prepare to laugh and cringe and laugh again.
