My wife and I started Season 1 and only lasted a couple of episodes.

I didn't like nearly as much as a lot of people did. However, the season finale had a 5 minute scene where I laughed so hard it brought tears to my eyes.

The Last of Us. This show has a huge budget and it's on full display. Only 2 episodes of 9 are out so far but wow, they've been good. It's a tv version of the video game but you do not need to know anything about the game. My kids know the game and kept saying "wow, they nailed this." If you're like me and didn't know the game existed you will just be impressed at how entertaining it is. The guy who did the latex work for Chernobyl did the work on this show and man, there are going to be some awards won. In particular there are characters called clickers that will blow you away. Don't google it, just watch and be surprised.

I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say as far as zombies go this show has an explanation no other show ever has. It's creepy as hell because there's an element of realism/truth to it in the insect world. They do a fantastic job of convincing you of this.

Thank God for HBO. I was starting to think that I didn't have enough post-apocalyptic zombie shows to choose from. I just hope they also come up with a new show about serial killers, because we don't have enough of those either.
