It was very well done with some excellent guest stars. Loved the way they self-deprecatingly connected it with the Seinfeld finale.

I just watched the latest episode of True Detective: Night Country. The show is weird as hell, and I don't get it, but Jodie Foster is great, the writing is great, the characters are great, even the music is great. I'm hooked. I love the show.

If you're a fan of Albert Brooks, tune in to Rob Reiner's Albert Brooks: Defending My Life. I've been a big fan since the early '70s, suggesting his appeal may be to an older demographic. Still, a lot of interesting and funny stuff. I've always loved the fact that Brooks's birth name was Albert Einstein, but he changed it as a young adult to avoid confusion. His underrated Real Life presaged reality tv by a decade and what seemed absurd at the time now seems painfully prophetic;

I love Albert Brooks. Loved him in Broadcast News. Especially loved him in Lost in America, where he tries to convince the casino owner to give him his money back after his wife loses their nest egg gambling in the casino:

An interesting fact that I found out recently is that his brother is the late Bob Einstein/Super Dave/Marty Funkhouser.

It's pretty funny that the series finale ended up being the episode showing the Lakers losing to the Celtics in 84, a bit of a low point for the Lakers in the 80s. This was a legitimately good show, Reilly and Brody were great and they somehow found a good actor to portray Kareem.

It bugs me knowing how much longer this could have continued. -- getting revenge on the Celtics in 85, the Celtics then coming back 86 with their best team on the decade only for the Lakers to lose to Hakeem and Ralph Sampson, going back to back and then their swan song in the 91 Finals against Jordan and passing the torch to the 90s Bulls. We didn't even get to see AC Green and his awesome celibacy crusade.

Ah man! I didn't realize it got cancelled. Very disappointing. One of my favorite things about the show was searching scenes to see if/how they really happened. Like the fight between Magic and Ron Boone or the press conference announcing Pat Riley as the coach. They did such a good job.

Such a good show. I love the Larry Bird actor and hope he really is that much of a prick in real life. Same with Jerry West.

The HBO Lakers show is so good, I love it. It's like watching the fun parts Boogie Nights (not just Heather Graham's A+ boobs) every episode. The years of 80-82 were indistinguishable from the 70s.

Such a good show. I love the Larry Bird actor and hope he really is that much of a prick in real life. Same with Jerry West.
