    Good points, i thought.
The only reason I agreedot see it was to watch ther boat sink. That was my favorite part, especially when dicrapio turned blue and sank slwoly. Excellent.

Shawshank Redemption and the Lives of Others are both very overrated, yet solid movies.

I only saw the edited for TV version so I'm sure the original was likely funnier though much more vulgar. Much like Anchorman (see below) I have chosen not to rewatch this movie even though there is a very good chance I would like it more with each viewing.
        * Annie Hall- I like a lot of Woody Allen stuff, but for everyone who claims this the funniest movie ever I say go back to Soho and keep pretending Any Warhol's Campbell Soup can was awe-inspiring art.
        * When Harry Met Sally- Was the orchiectomy painful?
        * Austin Powers- Mike Myers needs to stick to large green animated creatures.
*Anchorman- I have never seen it. It started out as just forgetting to rent the DVD; but over time it has turned into my badge of courage, much like American Idol. I enjoy the incredulous responses and hearing a person say "you have never seen Anchorman, you have to see it.
I don't think you can really say that you've seen the Big Lebowski if you've only seen it edited. Its all or nothing.

I largely agree with the rest of your list. Anchorman was okay, but I dont' remember any lines from it at all.

Big Lebowski - I also didn't get it

Anything with Will Ferrill - Anchorman had its moments. His appearance in Wedding Crashers was hilarious. I liked him in Elf. Other than that...not a fan. Just doesn't make me laugh. Lately he has turned into Ted McGinley. Not that he doesn't make me laugh, he just tries too hard that the movie ends up sucking. The end does not justify the means.

Reservoir Dogs - Waste of time. Apparently I don't "get it"

Anything by Tim Burton...except for the first Batman. (This will cause me to be flamed but go ahead.)

The Goonies is a stupid movie. I don't know if people are merely nostalgic, or if they sincerely like it, but it's horrible.

I couldn't get into the LOTR trilogy. They seemed long when I saw them in theaters, and each attempted viewing since then has caused me to fall asleep halfway through.

            I didn't enjoy Fletch.

I never thought New Jack City was worthy of the praise it received. A fine film to be sure, but it's neither a great blaxploitation or mob flick. It's kind of hovering out there, alone like a well-produced anti-drug PSA. But it is one of the last decent roles played by my second favorite Brat Packer Judd Nelson.

Annie Hall is one of my favorite American films. To each his own....

The Big Lebowski is a comedy riff on The Big Sleep. The former is good, the latter is a must-see for anyone who likes film noir (It's Bogart and Bacall at their best).

When Harry Met Sally is Annie Hall for the less erudite. The homages are blatant.

I made it through 20 minutes of the first Austin Powers movie. Yuck.

                I haven't seen Anchorman.

                I haven't seen Titanic.

I think both American Graffitti and Diner are overrated (and usually by nostalgic baby boomers).

So I can't stand Hoosiers, Rudy, Varsity Blues, Miracle on Ice, Chariots of Fire, Remember the Titans, etc.

We Are Marshall has a special place in the pantheon of movies I hate that everyone else likes, because it intersects a banal sports movie with a movie starring Matthew McConaughey. :::shudder:::

However, I do like Field of Dreams, The Natural, Jerry McGuire. Cause they dont have that climactic game at the end.
Hoosiers and Chariots of Fire are two fine films.

I hate the Princess Bride. Mormon kids love it. Aside from Jack's performance, I hated The Departed.

Jack's performance bugged. That phony irish accent that would come and go and be periodically spelled by that even phonier new england accent.

I'm not sure what gave me more enjoyment, when that guy let go and went banging off that pole or when dicapio finally went under.

The Big Sleep is great. The best of noir. I think Becall was only 20 years old when it was made.

Movies that were highly regarded that I do not care for:

                            In the Bedroom
                            The Remains of the Day

                            Out of Africa
                            The Accidental Tourist
                            Michael
                            Phenomenon

beg your pardon? Highly regarded by whom? I am not sure there exists a travolta movie post SNF that is even mediumly regarded.
