Thumbs up. Very enjoyable theater experience. So glad they didn't do a lot of the typical dumb Hollywood tricks, like extend a 90 minute story to 2:20. Very well done.

Even if you traditionally hate 3D movies? Last one I saw was the Hobbit, and it ruined the movie for me.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

is this movie too scary for bambini? Might take the puffy check to a flick tonight.
How old? I took my 7 yo. I think he did fine. There are a couple scenes where you see pretty gruesome (for a kid) view of a dead person. For a second I thought oh shiz i shouldn't have taken my kid. But it wasn't too bad. After taking him to Hunger Games and letting him watch children snap other children's necks, he's scarred anyway.

It's amazing how the noses and ears of the hobbits are coming right out of the screen as they do the hobbity stuff. Makes you want to reach out and touch them.
there are some movies that could lend themselves to 3d, although im am with you in that those exceptions are rare. The Hobbit is so clearly not one of them (I would also lump Gone with the Wind, Schindler's List, and Good Will Hunting into this category as well).
Ironically, the temple movie in 3D could actually be cool and could beautify and add variety to an otherwise boring experience.

PC is 8 (9 in december!). My son has recently done a google image search for "dead skeleton" and he catches tarantulas with his bare hands, so I think he would be ok. On the other hand, one of my daughters thinks Harry Potter movies are scary so I am guessing we will probably skip Gravity tonight.

Gravity not winning.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
Woot
I believe religion has much inherent good and has born many good fruits.
