There was a brand called "Mr Freshley's" that does an ok version of raspberry coconut zingers but any other hostess knock off I've had is terrible. There have been some pastry shops that did excellent versions of the classics.

You'd think after 20 years in the Army, I'd have come across this vile substitute, but perhaps there are some lows that even Army cooks won't stoop to.

You did 20 years? Wow. I did not know that. Good for you.

Do they still serve SOS in the army?

          And still going strong.

Depends on the mess hall, but I still see SOS out there from time to time.

Wegman's is awesome. Gidget hates grocery shopping. Mostly because I can spend 2 hours in Wegman's easily going up and down every aisle. I'm afraid if we ever move back out west that I will be disappointed every time I go grocery shopping.

Mrs SMR bought some Kroger brand graham crackers. Just awful. Barely edible. Yuck.
