Damn, this is awesome. Interview was so funny and The Daily Mail kicked ass. Guitar parts sounded better than From the Basement and the horns sounded more natural a little further in the background. That was great.

Bloom killed. I think right now that's my favorite live song out of the last two albums. The record version is great (and my favorite song on the album), but the live version is definitely superior. Thom on guitar vs. piano, the extra guitar harmony, Clive playing the loop live instead of programmed (and he's just so good), the extra drum Phils, and they did a great job with the mix on Colin's bassline, which is the best part of the song and lead line.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

The National Anthem live with horns for the first time since I'm guessing 2001. Damn. Spectacular. Only downer was they cut away from it at the end to run the credits.
Man, that was so much fun. Best hour of tv I've watched in some time.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Am I missing a performance? These are the three I can think of where they did The National Anthem with horns: SNL 2000, Paris 2001, and tonight.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postlol.

We only get CR on 1-day lag down here so saw it yesterday.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostChanged the arrangement a bit on LbL since FTB and it sounds a lot better. Like the new guitar intro.
Wow.
I have to say that The Daily Mail and Little By Little are a great return to the haunting chord progressions that made Radiohead one of the holy trinity in my mind.

Just got done watching the internet-only portion.
That live version Codex is sublime (although I think Thom messed up the lyrics). They definitely should have done that on the air, and on SNL for sure."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

My only problem with Codex is that the horns were too low in the mix (same with other all the other songs they appeared on). Other than that, everything sounded great and the episode was a lot of fun (watched it again twice yesterday). I noticed MMM had a completely different bassline than the album version and is being turned into more of a "rock" song live. Guitars are a little heavier and what not.Originally posted by Commando View PostJust got done watching the internet-only portion.

I saw it as well. It gave me more appreciation for Bloom and Codex. Just don't ask Thom to explain a good reason any of his political positions because it's obvious that he can't. Not that his positions aren't good, he just doesn't come off as intelligent."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

ha. His thoughts are always very scattered, but I think he got caught in between on this thing (as many of Colbert's guests do). Since he knows Colbert is taking the piss, he came off as not being quite sure whether he should be giving serious responses or playing along with the funny.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI saw it as well. Bloom is just a great song live. I don't think they quite nailed it on Colbert the way they did FTB (again, horns too low!), but it was still very good.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI saw it as well.
