Apart from the sequels, Kenobi is the worst show of the Disney era. It isn't specific to gender.

I don't have a problem with a female protagonist in Star Wars. Ahsoka was a great character in the Clone Wars and Rebels. It's the formulaic, predictable, and uncreative female characters and vapid and weak male characters. It's boring at this point.

That being said I'm waiting to see the season of Ahsoka through before I render judgment. I enjoyed Rebels but we'll see how this goes without the grounding of Kanan or Ezra. I'm a bit amused they are making Sabine a padawan because of course she is.

And if you have to have watched another series to make this one worth it, that is your best sign that maybe just maybe your time is better spent elsewhere.

Disney has to stop making shows that depend on its own lore. Kenobi was in my opinion good, not great, but also had much more lore to depend on. You can keep mining episode 4 for Rogue One chills. The little cartoon they did on the side doesn’t give nearly the support the show needs.

Two episodes in, I doubt I’ll spend any more time with it.

You are right, Ahsoka is probably not going to be accessible to the casual viewer. They haven't even given a quick summation of what happened to Ezra, he's just missing.

Kenobi was bad. I liked Book of Boba Fett more than Kenobi, and I thought BOBF was bad.

Rebels is 100% some of the best SW content to ever come out, you'll find. It's a game changer. Some people just like nostalgia more than actual Star Wars, I've noticed...

I don't think anybody never mentioned Tales of the Jedi mini series on Disney+, that came out last fall, which is a set of 6 vignettes, animated in a brand new style, about Ahsoka and Count Dooku. Very cool and expositive little shorts that add a lot of info to unanswered questions about Dooku's mentorship of Qui-Gonn, his subsequent fall, the mysterious disappearance of Yaddle, and Ahsoka's remarkable survival of order 66. That is, if you are a Star Wars fan.

Then you'll probably like Rebels. Good and compelling story, and you can't beat the realism of special effects in the context of an animated series.

Andor series is among the best Star Wars productions ever. I will fight anyone who disagrees.

Everything else is trash right now. I think the Mandalorian S3E6 was the worst thing Star Wars has ever produced. Horrible writing, acting, plot, yada yada yada. Lizzo should be sued for her performance in that too.

Of course Andor is great. Everybody knows that. Opinions are definitely varied among casual viewers, but the critics don't think everything else is trash rn. That's pretty hyperbolic. Ahsoka is just the latest in an unbroken tradition of critically acclaimed Star Wars tv series.
