Don’t believe it? Data from the National Box Office found that the Megaplex Theaters at Jordan Commons topped the nation as the theater that had the most people see the new Star Wars film, based on total dollar revenue.


More so, three other Utah Megaplex Theaters placed in the top 20. According to the press release, Megaplex at the District finished at fourth, the Thanksgiving Point location finished at 11th, and the newest location at Geneva in Vineyard earned the 19th spot.

This movie is what you get when you say, let's make a movie combining everything from the previous seven Star Wars film, keep it as safe as possible, add nothing new, and do it with characters no on cares about.

I fell asleep twice watching this. It was the worst live movie experience I've had since Avengers. Everyone in my family fell asleep at least once, including three boys age 10-21.

I'm glad it fixed the plot hole from Star Wars. But now I predict Star Wars XXIV is going to fix the plot hole for Rogue One. It will tell the story of how a Rebel Alliance engineer went to work for the Empire and created a "master switch" lol that would do whatever the Rebel Alliance needed it to do, sitting out in the open, with a big sticker next to it saying "This is the switch that will let the Rebel Alliance win."

The only parts anyone cared about was to see Darth Vader and Leia in their short cameos. But how bad ass is Darth Vader. He knows they have the Death Star plans and they're about to escape, but doesn't give an eff to pick up his pace to a slow jog or even brisk walk, he casually walks across that tunnel killing people. He's so boss, no one's going to force him into a situation where he loses even a shred of dignity by the appearance of a frenetic pace. Mad respect for that.

$9.75 is cheap... Tickets are $12.69 for the AMC at the local mall. Nearly $20 if you like IMax. It is no wonder people pirate the sh*t out of movies. But who the hell goes to AMC when you have an Alamo Drafthouse, where they have removed all the crap. It is actually worth paying $9.50 to watch a movie at the Drafthouse.

I actually was just wondering aloud. I had no idea how much Jordan Commons charged for their movies. They must have a crap ton of theaters there. I actually pay much more than that on the regular here in AZ but the theatres are generally pretty boss so I have no quarrel.

Same plot. Same thing going from one planet to another. Same type of characters on each side. Same use of droids. Same space fighting. Same land fighting. Same dynamics within Rebel Alliance. Same dynamics within Empire. Same stormtroopers. Same jumping and climbing to get to something scene. Same distracting them with a battle while we do something else strategic thing. Same bad guy always attempts to foil it at the end scene. Same everything.

edit: and that's fine. the last one did that, too, and i enjoyed it. but that one expanded the story and involved characters we care about or introduced new characters we knew were important to the star wars universe that we knew we'd grow with.

this one had all the boring aspects of star wars (thin plot, boring chase and fight scenes, lack of character development, etc.) without any of the good aspects.
