Some on the list are genuine plot holes but most seem to be unanswered questions. Obviously this was done on purpose that will be resolved in subsequent movies.

But I have to admit, that list is funny.

It's is funny, true, but the guy is trying too hard. To paraphrase yohio (and, really, who ever does THAT?), it's a story about ray guns and aliens and crap. Let's not get carried away.

Which is exactly what I have been arguing all along.

You folks upset about one big physics problem, knock it off. You are making me laugh. There is something that defies the basic laws of physics about every ten seconds in these movies. Also, consider the fact that they have unbelievable technology yet they fight 1980's-style aircraft dogfights, complete with 1980's era aiming systems in the cockpit and slow guided missiles. Also, the WW2 era spaceship battles with laser bullets and cannons that do only minor damage. No automated aiming systems? Haha. Then they completely ignore space-time issues. They walk around in ships when there is no gravity. They go from outer space to big open docks on space ships and voila! no problem with the vacuum of space. Oy vey.

And that is the tip of the iceberg. It is, by definition, an alternate universe. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

OMG that was stupid. Not a plot hole in the bunch-- just a lot of contempt towards the movie. "HOW LAME IS LUKE SKYWALKER FOR LEAVING THE RESISTANCE HIGH AND DRY?!?" Who even established the Resistance was even a thing when Luke left all those years before? The whole thing is like that. True hater article.

I'm still confused on why they needed the map from R2D2. Sure the map from BB8 wasn't complete, but he basically had Luke's location and a map of a lot of the galaxy around that point. It's like trying to get to Disneyworld and all you have is a map of Florida. Do you really need a map of the rest of the USA to get there? It seems they could have just checked some star charts and figured out where BB8s map was located in the galaxy and then just go there

I thought that at one point in the movie they talked about comparing the section BB8 provided to a star map, but they couldn't find anything that matched it in their charts. Which caused them to be sad until R2D2 woke up and supplied the rest of the map, allowing them to connect the unknown portion BB8 supplied to their known charts.

It did seem like a particularly large chunk to not have in their charts, but whatever - I didn't see that as a hole.

Or better, why would the rebels wait until a planet or planets have been destroyed before attacking a base like that when it has proven to be rather easy to destroy?

I don't think they were fully aware of its ability until it was used. Also, I think they learn about its oscillator through Finn.
