    • Somebody should mention Buckethead. He is incredibly talented, but man, that is one strange cat.

Wow. I can't remember hearing about this guy. But that's some very fluid playing. Kind of reminds me of Satriani or Vai.

He was Slash's replacement on the mid 2000's GnR revival. I couldn't tell you without Googling where he came from.. or why he thought putting a KFC bucket on his head, a Michael Myers mask on his face, and naming himself Buckethead was a good idea.

Didn't he used to be in Primus? That was the only thing I thought I knew about Primus. If it is not true I have to admit to knowing nothing about Primus.

According to a quick wiki scan [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckethead"]Buckethead - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] he teamed up with Les Claypool (bassist virtuoso and lead vocalist for Primus- in case you really didn't know anything about them) for a project called Monsters and Robots in 1999. He was never in Primus.

I have to think he is one of the more versatile players out there.

But I have to admit I consider myself pretty culturally fluent in modern music but I don't think I'm the best judge of musicianship. The stuff that catches me are the lyrics. I'm a sucker for singer-songwriter stuff and have started to realize the blues. I've been digging alt and roots country for awhile and was led to those waters by punk rock.

Figures I never heard of him. The late 90's-early 2000's are a musical black hole for me. I was in Canada during that time. The Great White North mandates 35% of all music played on the radio has to have Canadian roots.
