  • Name your favorite guitarist

My list has several as it's hard to pick just one.

Jimi Hendrix has to be at the top if not near it.
    Eric Clapton.
    Jimmy Page.

It would be nice to listen to Robert Johnson who said to have inspired Eric Clapton.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.
    - Howard Aiken

Any sufficiently complicated platform contains an ad hoc, informally-specified, bug-ridden, slow implementation of half of a functional programming language.
    - Variation on Greenspun's Tenth Rule

The usual suspects will make their way to this list, I am sure, but one that might not be as popular but that I dig....Ottmar Liebert.

Love that dude. Nouveau Flamenco is one my fave discs to throw on if I am driving for a long while on the freeway...down I-15 to Vegas or maybe crossing the border illegally from Mexico to San Diego, stuff like that.

If you have the inclination, check him out and check out that disc. It is sexy.

Jack White's my current favorite. I think he's very underrated as a guitarist.

                              I have DAT

Right now my favorite is Bonamassa. If you want to know why buy Last Kiss from his Live and Royal Albert Hall album. Dude can rock the blues

I'm also enjoying John Mayer. He's half pop artist and half guitar virtuoso. I find his playing to be clever and tasteful. He's a master of serving the song.

                              Here's a few others:

                              Hendrix
                              Page
                              Clapton
Beck (who frankly wipes the stage with virtually anyone from a pure technical standpoint)
                              Edge
                              Gilmour
                              VH
                              Eric Johnson
                              Satriani
Gary Hoey (Endless Summer II sountrack shows insane versatility and always finds its way back to my rotation)
                              Tommy Shaw
                              Neal Schon
Paul Gilbert (Technical wizard who has an amazing sense of humor. One of the best clinicians on the planet. He also does great covers of Osmond Brothers hits.)
                              Segovia
                              Atkins
                              Brad Paisley (EVH on cornbread)

I'm probably forgetting about twenty guys.
