Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I didn't think it was that bad. I wasn't busting a gut or anything, but I was mildly amused. I am willing to give it another chance.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

That and Southland. I thought the pilot was pretty good, although it has a lot of characters.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Me too. The Office had some history behind it, so it could be funny from the start. Give them a few episodes before writing this one off, I say.

The one funny moment from the first episode (especially for those of us in small conservative towns) is the city manager/mayor/whatever he is talking about how anti-government he is. And you have to admit that the double-barreled shotgun in his office is pretty funny.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I finally watched Park and Rec. I didn't think it was too bad. In fact, I think it has some potential. Aziz was the best character, imo. I hope it gets a fair shake.

Southland was interesting. They seem to have done some legit research to make the show as local as possible. References to Grape Street being a good example of such. Cop shows are not my favorite genre, so who knows how long I will tune into this. One technical thing that I thought was interesting (and unique for a TV show).....the actors actually swear, but the censors use beeps. I can't think of another TV show that does its first-runs this way.

The Office was completely hi-larious! They had Pam and Michael spilling french toast batter all over him. Michael spread his legs for a blurred crotch shot. There were some toilet flushing noises. Ryan stole some bowling shoes and ran away really fast. Someone kicked a ball that hit Phyllis in the nose. LOL! that is some creative writing right there, folks. Cutting wit. I look forward to next week's episode....Cousin Oliver shows up to work for Michael Scott Paper Company and a pie fight ensues.

I am wondering how they are going to get out of this current sideplot. I am thinking that Dunder Mifflin winds up buying Michael's paper company, he gets his old job back, Pam returns (maybe in sales, maybe as a receptionist), and the current boss (what's his name?) either goes away completely or becomes the new Jan.

              Arrested Development censored the swearing.

Last weeks Better off Ted was great. I haven't laughed at a show in a long long time. I was still laughing when it was all over.

Last time I laughed at a show this much was some of the episodes of Gavin and Stacey on BBCA.

I finally got around to watching Southland last night on DVR and I enjoyed it. I will agree with you on the characters. They might have to many and could possibly have to kill off one or two. Looks like it easily could be done based on some of the story lines.

Southland had a LOT of Dodger references. Tattoos, hats, etc. Sweet!

I think you're right. But what will happen when Pam outpaces Jim and Dwight as the best new salesperson?

She won't be able to keep up her numbers once she gets pregnant and she and Jim start their family!

I haven't seen that but it is quite possible that I have seen the actual gang members at the stadium. I think that when you are in a cholo gang and you go to the game, you are required to get dressed up and wear a pair of dark blue Nike Cortez. If it is a normal night and you are just out in the barrio putting in work, you can wear any comfortable (but safe) footwear.

I watched SouthLAnd last night. I thought it was great. I am going to let 5-6 episodes build up so I can enjoy them all back to back one weekend. A great ensemble cast, I have very high hopes for this show.
