Black Francis is coming to Jackson, MS. Any of you seen his solo shows? I am not too familiar with his work ouside of the Pixies. I wonder if he'll play some Pixies off on his own.

What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

Ooooh! you lucky! Check out Bluefinger and the Svn Fingers EP. I think we discussed this already, but I believe this material was slated to be Pixies stuff, but Kim wasn't on board for another Pixies record. Hence the Black Francis moniker rather than Frank Black. Should be a pretty fun and fairly intimate affair."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Rockfest 2013 was just announced Monday. Alice in Chains headlines along with Seether, Halestorm, Volbeat, Sevendust, Papa Roach, Killswitch Engage and a bunch of other bands no one else here listens to.
I'll have my tickets tomorrow.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Thank you. He gave me a nod after the Pixies show but wouldn't say anything to me. I'm hoping to squeeze a word out of him this time around.Originally posted by Commando View PostOoooh! you lucky! I saw Rush, James Taylor and Metallica on consecutive weekends in 92 or 93. Also, I was on the front row for MSG and high-fived The Mad Axeman.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostNot my brag, but a good friend of mine is a concert junkie. He had a 3 day stretch at the end of 2012 where he saw, the Eagles, Black Keys, and The Killers. He catches 20+ concerts a year, is a UNLV basketball season ticket holder, active in the church, and somehow still married (he does all the above activities, sans spouse). This space is available.

Just rounded up tix for a couple of upcoming shows in may. The first is Built to Spill. I've heard great things about their live show, and this will be in a small club.
The second- on one bill, mind you, is as follows: Of Montreal, Devandra Banhart, Turquoise Jeep

Not much of a brag, but I saw Muse here in Vegas a couple weekends ago. My wife's friend is currently the lighting designer/engineer for Red Hot Chili Peppers and has done several shows for Muse as well. He called us up the night before to let us know he'd be in town and wondered if we wanted to go. I have heard over and over what an amazing show Muse puts on and since it was only costing a baby sitter, we signed on. Pretty interesting experience to watch the show from such a technical perspective. Apparently, anyone who says that Muse puts on the best show ever hasn't seen a Radiohead show.I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

While their shows are each great, I wouldn't credit either of those bands with having the best show ever.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostApparently, anyone who says that Muse puts on the best show ever hasn't seen a Radiohead show."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! It was a really small show and we were right up by the stage. After the show, I just climbed up onto the stage, gave him a hug, thanked him for coming and asked if I could get a picture. Lots of other people were waiting in line to talk to him and get pictures, so I didn't bother him any more than that. Plus, it was already 2 a.m. and we needed to get home to our 14-year-old babysitter. I chatted with a guy next to me before the show. He's seen him 7 times and the Pixies twice. He said one show he ended up hanging out with him and chatting for a full hour.Originally posted by USUC View PostNice! How long was your encounter with him?
