Caught this on Friday night with falafel and a few other friends. It is slow at parts, but always intense (would you expect anything else from Gosling?) and it really picks up toward the end. All in all I really enjoyed it. Just enough detail to raise a lot of questions, but not so much detail to kill the curiosity. I want to see it again, actually.
Also, the soundtrack is awesome. We enjoyed the songs so much we ended up youtubing them on our phones and listening to them all weekend. This song ended up being the de facto theme song of our golf/BYU football debacle trip:

Saw it with the wife. We really liked it. It is interesting that there are so many calm scenes and that is often shattered with extreme acts of violence.
I wish more of it was developed...like the relationship between Mulligan and Gosling. But we enjoyed it overall. I like the indie feel to it (camera placements, not being afraid to have no talking, etc.)Comment

Loved every single second of it and was completely sucked in the whole time. I really liked that they didn't make any attempt to give Driver a backstory, explain him, or humanize him at all (which would have happened if they pushed the development of the relationship too hard) because the whole thing would have fallen apart if they had. Easily in my top position of films I've seen so far this year. I'd see it again right now.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.Comment
