I have two new recommendations.

1. Long Shadow - Rise of the American Far Right. This podcast starts at the end of the KKK and the Civil Rights movement and traces the remains of the white supremacy movement through the militia movement of the 80s and 90s, to Timothy McVeigh, to the rancher rebellions (e.g., the Bundys and others), to the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, to the rise of Donald Trump and finally Jan. 6. Really interesting to see the thread that connects them all.

I'll have to give this a listen. Sounds a little like a book I read recently (maybe a year ago?) called Jesus and John Wayne which details the rise of evangelism (and white supremacy) within the Republican party and that corrupted both the GOP and Christianity and led us to a place where Trump is somehow the face of the conservative Christian right. It was an interesting read.
