Rhapsody's app became unusable, so I switched to mog. The streaming for mog is high quality, which is nice. I just hate that I can't make playlists from the app.

    I'm waiting for an invite...

I'm still confused as to how this is any better/different than Grooveshark, which is free.

Way better than Grooveshark. I used Grooveshark every day and was a big fan. For starters, the Spotify interface is far superior. When you do a search on an artist, you get a beautifully organized search result that you can browse in several different ways, including by album. And while Grooveshark relies on content uploaded by users (random quality, inconsistent naming and tagging, lots of dupes, etc.), Spotify provides all of the content so the quality and organization are great.

I could go on, but try out a free account and you will see. Assuming you spend a lot of time around a computer, it is well worth the $5 per month IMO.

Goodbye rhapsody and mog, hello spotify.

A single app to get my on-demand subscription music mixed with my DRMed music (The Beatles)...this is bliss. The bit rate is good. Selection is comparable. Creating a playlist is much easier.

I'm hooked, and after only ten minutes.

I tried this last night and it's great. I'd it had an AirPlay option I'd likely sign up for the pay version.

I signed up for a free account and am trying it out today. I like the interface way better than grooveshark, and it is a lot faster. While it's pretty cool, I have yet to see any huge differences in essential functionality from grooveshark. We'll see, but I don't envision paying for it. Does the free version last indefinitely?

Yes, as far as that can be determined anyway (is grooveshark going to last indefinitely? who knows).

The ads do get a little annoying though. Couldn't they have got someone else to do the spotify promos than random spotify employees?

Good question on how long grooveshark lasts. Or, how long it lasts ad-free. Right now after already having heard several spotify ads today, I'm going back to grooveshark.

And yeah, JL, I'm too cheap for the monthly $5 to upgrade. At least until my employer starts paying me what I'm worth.

Is Spotify like Pandora where they give you random music within a range, or like Grooveshark where you have to create a list?

I have the Premium version and really like it. Great having all the music I want available wherever I am.

Spotify is like Grooveshark but legal. I really like Spotify.

Has anyone every tried Wondershare, or a similar product? Supposedly, it will record from Spotify or Pandora, which I then can import to iTunes. If it is as good as advertised, it seems well worth $19.00 purchase price.

That sounds like a product which is going to ruin Spotify for the rest of us.

So far the free trial is working perfectly.
