My thoughts on the final scene

Spoiler for Thor end of credits:

I agree with much of what GL has stated. But, I think it is important to point out that the reflection shows both the scientist and Loki. I believe that Loki is just hitchin a ride and influencing the scientist's thoughts. The cosmic cube has been used by may of the villains in Marvel history. Including the Red Skull who play a major part in the up coming Captain America movie. In the comic books around the late seventies or early eighties, the Cosmic Cube was used by both Loki and the Red Skull to bring the Skrull/Kree war to Earth. I believe that is what is going to happen to cause these superheros to unite and form the Mighty Avengers.

And I wish Natalie Portman could act. She was the worst part of Thor. IMHO she made it a 3 star movie instead of a 3 and a half star movie. So many other skilled female actors the could say the line "my research" and not make me LOL.

The Marvel assets are amazing. I can't believe this company found its way into bankruptcy and then sold way too cheap to disney

Sorry, it just wasn't a compelling character. Maybe the 70s and 80s were more 'evolved' than the 60s, in terms of entertainment options. I never liked Thor as much as Batman, Spidey, Superman, Wolverine, or (for some strange reason) Beast.


Hopefully the movie is entertaining and the characters are interesting.

CHoosing between two utes I would usually choose the older guy, but here, as one who started reading comics in the 60s, I have to agree that Thor was a boring character. I never bought one and never really wanted to read one.

I enjoyed Thor quite a bit. I like the big gamble that Marvel took in trying to build a cinematic universe with interweaving stories and characters. It seems to be paying off so far. I was thoroughly surprised that Thor was as good as it was. I was of the opinion that it would be pretty much impossible to get an audience to buy into the whole concept but they did a great job jumping between Earth and Asgard and walking a fine line between Lee/Kirby melodrama and lighthearted adventure. Just like the best Thor comics.

I agree with almost all you said. I didn't know how they could pull of Thor, but they did. Very entertaining. The guy that played Thor did a nice job as well. Thumbs up.

Meh. It was OK. The inter-planet stuff is just too far out there for my tastes. Reminds me of that silly Transformers stuff.

As opposed to what? spider bites leading to superpowers? yellow sunlight allowing one to fly? A successful vigilante in a rubber body suit with bat ears who doesnt use a gun? They are all silly, really. But for me, this one was OK, as far as they go. Anthony Hopkins chews it up pretty well (btw, is he deep in debt por something? He is starting to remind of Laurence Olivier who took any role they would send his way in his old age for financial reasons).

I have never considered myslef a comic book nerd and I enjoyed it. My wife, who I suspect may have never read a comic book in her entire life did nto like it too much.
