    • Tyrion talked about the wildfyre buried stored under Kings Landing during this past episode. Hmm.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Supposedly Dragon fire can melt stone. In a past season there were scenes in an old ruined castle, Harrenhal, where stones were melted and the occupants killed by dragons during the Targaryen conquest of Westeros. Among those scenes were when Arya Stark was Tywin Lannister's cup bearer.

            • The Battle of the Bastards. Such a glorious battle scene. Here is the background story of the filming of the battle. The clip starts out with a brief clip-- this was the scene that gave me goosebumps- Jon Snow, by himself, facing down a row of charging horses. No CGI involved- that was Kit standing in a field of charging horses.

                  • My daughter is, ATM, on the plane to Chicago for basic training. She will be a Navy Nuke. As I've mentioned, she's been pen pals with GRRM for the last 2 years. When she learned that she would report to basic training on June 21st, instead of January 2017, she emailed her friend George R. R. Martin if there was any way she could see the 10th episode of Season 6 since her ship out date is between weeks 9 and weeks 10 of season 6. GRRM told her that he would "see what I can do". My daughter shipped out today, 6/21. George R. R. Martin went to bat for my baby girl, my first born. Last night, she had a private screening over skype with D.B. Weiss of the 10th episode. I neither asked for, not did she provide and spoilers. However, I'd like to give a huge shout out to George R. R. Martin, and the producers of the show. GRRM asked for a special screening for my kid. It was granted. I cannot begin to express how awesome this is. Props to GRRM for even asking for this favor for my daughter. Props to the producers for agreeing to it. Props to my kid for not leaking any details. I never asked for details and she never offered a clue as to what was/is to come this weekend.

So, this is a blatant case of daddy bragging about his kid. Dammit, my oldest is fucking amazing. My daughter shared much more with more regarding the conversation she had with the producers of GoT, but I'm not going to betray that confidence. Suffice it to say that my kid is amazing, and that I hope all your kids manage to be as amazing as mine.

How did she become pen pals with him?

As far as bragging about your kids go... this is pretty up there. Best wishes to your daughter on the "new adventure."

She sent him an email on a lark, asking if he could help her build the universe for her novels and/or just be a mentor to help her out. The entire pen pal relationship has been based on an informal agreement to never mention GoT or ask him for information on the plot. Until she found out she would ship out on 6/21, she never once asked him about the plot for GoT. At the same time, she asked him for help and feedback on her ideas. I can only assume, with a lot of evidence, that GRRM believes pretty strongly in helping out the next generation of writers. He has provided her a lot of feedback and plenty of advice. He has offered to help with her first publication, and then has gone out of his way to get a special screening for my kid. GRRM, is IMO, a hero for how he treats the next generation of writers.

Sorry for the thread hijack... but my kid has seen s6e10 and yours hasn't.

                              Amazing story.

Good for her. You should be proud. Keep us updated on her progress/training.

That's pretty cool. Now I have someone else to blame for why the next book isn't finished.
