Oh, Crash. Thank you. I forgot about that one.

I saw 300 last night. It was worse than horrible.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Why would my man card be needed for disliking a movie that had fight scenes that if played normal speed would have made the movie 45 minutes long. I think I fell asleep after about the 20th slow motion fight scene.

Oh, and the green screen background throughout the movie was distracting. Even Star Wars 1-3 had better special effects in using a green screen.

300 makes violence into pornography. That's just an observation.

They might as well have called it, "McDonald's and Me" which was pretty close to their slogan at the time (IIRC) of "McDonald's and You." That whole dance scene in and around the McDonald's especially made me hate that movie.
For you Mac and Me haters, here's a great article about the movie from critic Nathan Rabin's "My Year of Flops" series. It's pretty funny.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

                  1. Stepmom. If you want to watch two women argue with each other for two hours, then this movie is for you.

                  2. Transformers 2.

                  3. AI. Great reviews, shitty movie. I talked four other people to come and watch this with me ("Hey, I know the premise sounds crappy, but Spielberg and Kubrick were involved, you've gotta see this movie!". They were pissed with me after the movie.

                  4. Lost in Translation. Sorry to crib off of you Slim.

                  5. Star Wars -- The Phantom Menace. When I was watching an eight year old kid walk around with other kids, one wearing a Greedo mask, checking out the pod racer before the pod race, and one of the kids called Darth Vader "Annie," I realized that George Lucas had lost it. A tremendously disappointing and lame movie.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

One of Spielberg's greatest and most misunderstood films, in my opinion.

I'm inclined to agree w/ Eddie on this one, Bronco's team viewing of the film notwithstanding. It just got boring. I understand that it's based on a graphic novel (i.e. cartoon) but it was just trying way too hard, using too much laughable cliche language. I can see how people appreciate it, but I thought it sucked.

I am not sure which lines you refer to, but much of the cliche language I presume you to mean is historically accurate. Where is All-American?

Here's a good review on the film:

"Be afraid!" they rumble, stopping just short of adding, "Be very afraid." They talk about going on the "warpath," unaware that the phrase had not yet been coined by American Indians. Their women, like Gorgo (Lena Headey), queen of Leonidas, are as bloodthirsty as their men, just like wrestler's wives.

Ha! Maybe I just find the story behind the Battle of Thermopylae uninteresting. Or maybe I was just have "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" flashbacks from the weird cinemetography and green screen.
