The second season of Dark came out last Friday. The second season is better than the first, at least so far. The different time periods visited increase from three to five. Most of you don't remember this show, but it's in German. I don't know if they dub it into English or not.
If you don't mind reading subtitles, Babylon Berlin is also really good. Aside from the plot, the setting of the show during the Weimar era in Germany is very interesting.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I haven't been able to get past episode 2:2 of Broadchurch.
In my effort to test D-hole's thesis that the final season of Mad Men was actually good, but that we had been spoiled by the last season of Breaking Bad around the same time, I started the series over. Mad Men 4:7 (the Suitcase) may be some of the best TV ever produced.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

Having finished the second half of the final season recently, I maintain my position. However, the first half is much better than the second half. And the last couple eps are some of the weakest of the entire series. But way way waaaaaaay too much Joan (ugh) in the second half of season 7. Like seriously, IDGAF about the fact that the woman who has outwardly used sex as a weapon for advancement is life is now suddenly upset that she's the object of unwanted affection/obsession. But I suppose i'm in the minority here, because I don't count Joan as among the 15 most attractive women in the series, so I never really fell prey to her character's supposed allure.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostI haven't been able to get past episode 2:2 of Broadchurch.

Interesting. She's top 3 in my book. Betty and Trudy going 1,2, respectively.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostHaving finished the second half of the final season recently, I maintain my position. I was able to kind of piece things back together by the end of the first episode. I also went to some wiki page but it spoiled something that occurs, I believe, around the fifth episode -- I didn't need to refer to the wiki page. You may just want to read short episode recaps from the first season. The important thing is remembering which characters come from which family and who is married to each other.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostI saw that. They go back to 1921, so one of the characters who is old in 1986/87 is shown as a child in 1921. Then at least one of the child characters in 2019/20 is an adult in 2052/53. It's an interesting spin on the old time travel trope -- basically you can't pick a specific date to go back/forward to -- all the time cycles are happening simultaneously and you can only skip to the exact same point in time in 33 year increments, e.g. April 15, 1986 at 10:30 AM to April 15, 2019 at 10:30 AM.Part of it is based on academic grounds. I liked the finale, but overall agree with your assessment, especially of Joan.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostHaving finished the second half of the final season recently, I maintain my position. There is an old Greek story you should check out, you would probably like it. I can't recall the name, something like Edisapus.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostInteresting. She's top 3 in my book. Betty and Trudy going 1,2, respectively.
First time through I was indifferent to Joan, the second time through I liked her much less (and strangely Betty more). The storyline that annoyed me the most was when she votes to oust Don after he "cost her a lot of money". This came shortly after DD was the only one who didn't want to pimp her out to Jaguar. All the others, and most importantly Joan herself was willing to use sex to become a partner. Seemed strange to side with Roger and Pete against the only person who didn't constantly objectify her, even when she was "just a secretary"Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI always felt sorry for Joan.
