There's a miniseries called Top of the Lake, I highly recommend it. Miniseries are popular in the UK but have fallen out of favor in the US. But this one is pretty good.

Looks like Amazon Prime is getting in on the original material now. They currently have a bunch of show concepts that Prime members can watch (just pilots) and then vote to see which will become full fledged series. Haven't seen any yet, but I'll give em a shot..

Watched the pilot of Hemlock Grove last night and my wife said "this looks like it was shot in Instagram." lol.

Everyone is. Microsoft is reportedly in talks to revive Heroes to release original content on Xbox Live. They're talking about a whole new cast and then integrating the old cast in with cameos.

Despite your praise, I actually think you're doing it a disservice by comparing it to AD. It's a great show full-stop!

Yeah, thats a fair point. Reason that I mentioned AD was, this was the first comedy after AD was cancelled, that I loved. It also was similar with no laugh track and just quick fabulous dialogue that was funny. It was a terrific show and gone too soon.
