If any one is keeping score, I'm with JL on the language in Shrinking. I don't have very sensitive ears and spend plenty of time around people with creative vocabularies. But they were trying too hard to be edgy, especially early on.

This only makes sense if you assume the intended audience sees swearing as edgy. If the show only aired in areas where people tend not to speak that way, then I'd agree with you, but the way these characters swear is just how a lot of people speak these days. I'm guessing the writers would tell you they shoot for the realistic dialog of their audience.

Does anyone agree with me that Shrinking has fallen off a cliff this season? I can barely get through each episode. The writing has changed and it feels like they've made every character a cartoon of their Season 1 and 2 selves.

The current Shrinking episode was a eturn to form, especially with physically deteriorating but very touching Harrison Ford's performance, who responds to Jimmy's complaints about hardships.

Agreed. That was a great season finale.
