    Ha ha. Okay, I should've seen that coming. But I meant simply that it's not based on an existing property. People went to see it either because it was something new and talked about or because of James Cameron's name alone. The fact that Hollywood harps on this pre-awareness factor all the time, when the biggest-grossing movie of all time was NOT either a book adaptation/videogame adaptation/sequel/straight remake/board game adaptation/live action remake of a not-that-great-to-begin-with 80s TV show is hopefully a precedent that will be given even more consideration if a movie like INCEPTION does well at the box office too.

      The reviews are coming in and they're all extremely positive. I've only read the excerpt from Rottentomatoes for most, but the one I read said it was better than The Dark Knight.
      Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                    Well I haven't seen DREAMSCAPE since I was about 12 years old so I won't comment on that one (even though I remember liking it.) ETERNAL SUNSHINE, on the other hand, I consider to be somewhere amongst the top five films of the past decade. I love that movie.

                    Should we also consider the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movies? Specifically THE DREAM WARRIORS? Because my 14 year old self thought that movie was awesome!

                      You know that the Nightmare franchise was a complete ripoff of Dreamscape, right? They even had a wiseacre Freddy character in Dreamscape.

                        To be honest, I'm still kind of upset about the fact that these movies have all been referenced in relation to INCEPTION, as I now know more about the premise than I want to. Guess that's what I get for participating in this thread.
