I thought it was a pretty rad movie-- especially after how bad the Wolverine movie was botched.

The Wolverine movie was awful.

It had a few decent scenes, but as soon as Will.i.am was introduced as one of the supporting cast mutants I lost all confidence in the movie.




That sad part was that he wasn't even making a cameo.

Two comments and 1 question:

1. The dinner scene in the airplane hanger: Hammer's hands were terribly discolored. Since they never explained it, it was distracting.

He wanted so badly to be just like Tony Stark that he applied spray-on tan to appear more swarthy, just like Stark. Obviously, he wasn't very good at applying the stuff.

2. Most Superheroes are not unmasked as swiftly as Iron Man was, at the end of the first movie. One critic explains why:

Usually, the superhero character is more interesting, while the alter ego is mild mannered and boring. No danger of this with Tony Stark who is very interesting. In fact, Stark is onscreen more than Iron Man in the first movie.

3. Question: I think I like Cheadle more than Terrance Howard but why the switch? I heard rumors that Howard was a diva?

Side note: There have been long periods in the comics where Stark's being Iron Man is public knowledge. At one point, he even becomes the Secretary of Defense, so I liked the little throwaway comment about it in the movie.

My understanding was that it was haggling over salary and that Howard thought he was a little more important to the production than he actually was.

I know most people don't actually care about this, but I feel compelled to mention that since writer Ed Brubaker took over the book about 4 years ago, CAPTAIN AMERICA has been on a pretty fantastic run.

The missus and I saw it last night. Really a fun flick I thought and on the first showing I enjoyed it as much as the first installment. We'll rent it some time down the road and I'll see how it feels the second time around.

Marvel/comic book nerds should definitely stay through the credits.

On another note, the trailer for Christopher Nolan's latest movie Inception played before the feature presentation. At the very least, the trailer looks pretty fascinating. Plus, there's a good cast, to boot.

I am glad I was not the only one who saw that. It was freaking weird. I thought one of his middle fingers was cut off at the first knuckle.. It found myself focused on it the whole time..


Overall, I enjoyed it. Not better then the first but still good...

Finally got around to seeing it and overall, I enjoyed it. The first Iron Man was a tough act to follow because there were very little expectations of it going in and it ended up being awesome. So, it would be tough for the sequal to match that given the expectations going in.

I'm glad they're doing all these super hero movies, I think they're fun.

The thing that ruin Iron Man 2 for me was seeing Larry Ellison doing a cameo and the word "Oracle" on everything. If Ellison doesn't bother you then it might be worth seeing.

Saw this last night. I think Mpfunk liked it better than I did, but we both enjoyed it. I heard some hype about Iron Man 2 being as good as The Dark Knight, and that's just absurd. It was certainly entertaining and I don't regret seeing it in the theatre (something I rarely do since nowadays, since I can buy the DVD for the cost for the two tickets to an evening movie showing).

I thought parts of the movie dragged a bit, but the last 20 minutes or so have plenty going on. Entertaining, and for me, ultimately forgettable.
