    IRON MAN 2

How great does this movie look? There's a free advance screening in Salt Lake on Tuesday, May 4th. Passes are available at www.gofobo.com/rsvp. PM me if you'd like an RSVP code.

Edit: Sorry, passes went pretty damn quick. I'll post if I get any other opportunities for tickets.

Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Yeah, when it comes to a movie I've already decided to see, I don't read reviews until I've seen it myself and can add something to the discussion.

Robert Downey Jr. said Ironman 3 is already in the works.

The first Iron Man was marginal at best, so I don't really care about the sequel.

Not to mention the AVENGERS movie. I believe Samuel Jackson is already signed to appear in about six different films as Nick Fury (AVENGERS, IRON MAN, HULK, CAPTAIN AMERICA, THOR, etc.)

I saw this Friday night and thought it was a lot of fun if not quite up to the "sequel is better" standards set by the X-MEN and BATMAN franchises. Film writer Matt Zoller Seitz had an interesting piece over at Salon about why superhero movies, considered as a group, fall short when compared to other genres of film. Here's the link. He has some good arguments, but I think he omits some very good films that could potentially damage his thesis.

I thought it was a pretty rad movie-- especially after how bad the Wolverine movie was botched. Tony Stark was as almost as cool in this one as he was in the first one.

Scarlett Johanssen looked as good as she's ever looked and Don Cheadle stepped in nicely as War Machine. Mickey Rourke was pitch perfect, but they really didn't use him that much. The Hammer guy was the real villain, but they really didn't develop the menace that much in this one.

Hopefully you guys swallowed your pride and stayed after the credits to see the teaser scene. I felt like a schmuck, but I waited the whole five minutes or so.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Not only did I wait, I made the entire 12 person group I was with wait as well. And the best part is that none of them had any idea what the hell it was.
