She enjoyed the movie more than she enjoyed you? Not sure I would admit that, even semi-publicly."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

This afternoon we had our biggest and most enjoyable cinematic surprise in years. We hadn't heard of The Sheep Detectives but gave it a shot and left the theater very entertained, even a bit uplifted. Starring Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun (Greg from Succession who plays a funny but stupid cop, with an accent of unknown origin), and others, including the voice talents of Bryan Cranston, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent!), and several others. It reminded us of the fun family movies we took the kids to in the '80s and '90s. if you find the trailer stupid, then don't bother, but the trailer captures the spirit, humor, and overall quality of what was a very nice time at the movies.

i know it's recommended for kids 8 and over but i think younger (5 and up?) would do okay as the talking sheep, including the baby ones, are kind of cute. But the death theme and a couple of tense scenes might be a bit much.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostIt has a huge RT score. When I saw the trailer, I sort of wondered if all the stars in it had decided to jump the shark as a group.
is it young-kid friendly? I may take my whole crew.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

Saw Sheep Detectives
Fun little movie - great cast. Reminds me of a cross between "Babe" and an Agatha Christie mystery.

We went as a family last night. It was great. My 14yo daughter said “that was like Knives Out but with some sheep”Originally posted by happyone View PostSaw Sheep Detectives

Actually I thought the trailer looked pretty dumb but we really enjoyed the movie. Watched a few movies on my flights to and from Japan.
A Perfect Day - Japanese movie about an older single guy in Tokyo who finds peace and meaning working as a toilet cleaner and interacting with people and nature. Funny thing is, when I got to Tokyo, I noticed that there are now public toilet tours based on the movie by GetYourGuide. Haha. 3.5 stars
Marty Supreme - Timothee Chalamet plays a guy who is obsessed with becoming the world's best table tennis player and is willing to do pretty much anything to make it happen. Incredibly intense movie. 4 stars
After the Hunt - Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield in a movie featuring a scandal in the philosophy department at Yale. Outstanding exploration of power, social dynamics, psychology, etc. Lots of plot twists. 4 stars.
Song Sung Blue - Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in a true story about a Neil Diamond tribute band. Great music and a beautiful and touching love story. 4.5 stars."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."
"It's no secret that the great American pastime is no longer baseball. Now it's sanctimony." -- Guy Periwinkle, The Nix.

I loved that movie too. They were both great, but Kate Hudson was incredible.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostSong Sung Blue - Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in a true story about a Neil Diamond tribute band. Great music and a beautiful and touching love story. 4.5 stars.

One of my favorite movies is on Tubi. The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob.
Silly slapstick French humor.

I found Marty Supreme a bit insufferable
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

The Marty character is annoying as hell - I was rooting against him for much of the film. And after a while, the ongoing string of calamities becomes almost comical. When that gas station blew up I just laughed. Nevertheless, I was intrigued to see how it would end.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI found Marty Supreme a bit insufferable
