Free Guy. Really fun movie. Ryan Reynolds saves what would otherwise probably be a mediocre movie. There are a lot of places in the movie where it could have really run off the rails. But his comic chops and good looks keep you in the movie and LOLing. Solid B.

The Courier. Had low expectations. Liked it."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

<time to further prove my manliness and the amazing things I do instead of spending more time here>
I watched The Eyes of Tammy Faye last night. It was an interesting review of something I somewhat remember growing up in the area and it definitely presents a sympathetic view of her, not so much of Jim Bakker. We went to a private screening because one of our friends was a visible extra in it and that made it a more fun experience. Well done, better than the 60-something % on RT.
</movie discussion to go watch some Entertainment Tonight and TMZ>I have nothing else to say at this time.

"No Time to Die". Very lame. This was the best they could come up with to send off Daniel Craig?!? Don't pay to watch it. C-.
"The French Dispatch". Quintessential Wes Anderson. A little self indulgent with secondary plot lines, but that's who he is. Dialogue comes at you fast but just delightful. It will take a second viewing to get it all. Jeffrey Wright is excellent in it, and Bill Murray and Anderson regulars do what they typically do. Not a great 'movie' in the sense of a good story-telling plot, but a great experience to watch. A-."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. I concur with NWC on this. No Time to Die is really lame. Not only was it a crap send off of Daniel Craig but it seems like they're trying to completely gut the entire Bond franchise.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post"No Time to Die". Very lame. Spoiler for Spoiler Alerts:They blatantly kill off Blofeld, all of SPECTRE. Felix Leiter, and James Bond. Seriously. They also introduce a female character as the new 007 and basically state that Q is gay. The movie was seething with lame wokeness and I bet money that they try to reboot the franchise with lame woke characters in the future

Also not a fan of No Time to Die
Spoiler for Spoiler:The fact that they resorted to the same lame emotional manipulation as End Game where they introduce a little girl who loses her daddy, except this time they had barely met and never really developed any relationship! How heartbreaking!

I also recently saw Dune and didn't think they could do much better. My only complaint is that Caladan is supposed to be a lush planet, and they could have contrasted that more with Arakis. Sure they showed the vegetation and water, but the colors didn't pop. The director seems to like the grey faded color motif. Small quibble for a well done movie though.Last edited by beefytee; 11-01-2021, 08:31 AM.

I bet the new Dune isn't better than the 1984 version, LOL. Sting should have received an Oscar for his performance as Feyd-Rautha. I need to see the new one.Originally posted by beefytee View PostI also recently saw Dune and didn't think they could do much better. I thought the new Dune was awesome. Can't wait for part 2."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I watched it a few months ago with my kid. I did dig the score by Toto. Interesting that Toto wrote the score when Sting is in the movie.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post
