Saw Coco this weekend. Maybe I am biased, as someone who served a mission in Latin America. But I loved it. Does Pixar have a few plot devices they recycle? Sure. But this film was very clever, nonetheless. There are plenty of parallels to Monsters Inc. Ratatouille, Toy Story 3, Up, etc. but they are not tired, and they certainly aren't off-putting. Anyone who doesn't like this movie is a commie who is likely pushing an anti-Pixar agenda.

I haven't seen the Room. I didn't even know that the Disaster Artist was based on it. But I still liked it. There was great chemistry between the Franco brothers. And James Franco was perfect for that character. I thought his character was over the top until the end, when I realized the Room really was a movie. Looks like he played the character pretty straight.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostThe Disaster Artist. Go only if you enjoy watching The Room. "I did not hit herrrr, I did naaaht. Saw this last night. Couldn't agree more. I'm not sure I have ever seen a more misleading trailer for a movie in my life. And how the hell did Kristen Wiig get star billing for that? What a crock of shit that movie was.Originally posted by RC Vikings View Post"Downsizing" it's terrible, don't go. Coco - Typical Pixar. Gorgeous scenes, good music, good but campy story, one or two really good heart-string tuggers, but overall kind of boring. Only two of my kids wanted to see it and they liked it but didn't love it. For an eight year old girl to not love a cartoon is kind of a low bar, so there you go. Of course, I served in France, so Ratatouille is still my favorite. I did love that in Coco, the guitar playing music matched the strings the kid was playing, which was cool."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

They show Jason Sudeikis in the trailer for the movie like he’s going to have a major part and then he’s in the movie for maybe five minutes. I was expecting some comedy but it just turned into two hours and fifteen minutes of boredom.Originally posted by Surfah View PostSaw this last night. Couldn't agree more. Yup these commie Hollywood types are trickling middle American Trump voters into paying to watch a super boring allegory promoting green and socialist ideals. Can’t say I blame them because who would see this movie if they knew what it was truly about?Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostThey show Jason Sudeikis in the trailer for the movie like he’s going to have a major part and then he’s in the movie for maybe five minutes. I finally got around to watching Passengers for free and it wasn’t as bad as I feared. Speaking of allegories. it’s kind of a thought-provoking Adam and Eve with some Voltaire “Till Your Garden” vibe mixed in. I found it somewhat inspirational.

Some people are in denial about this movie, but the reality will eventually set in. The box office decline resembles the trajectory of something like Batman vs Superman.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostStar Wars. Possibly ruined my desire to see anymore of them. Really bad plus really long is a rough combo. Found myself longing for Jar Jar Binks.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I thought it was good. But I guess once reality sets in, I'll figure out it was horrible.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostSome people are in denial about this movie, but the reality will eventually set in.
