Was interesting not amazing. Two hours of mostly non-stop action consisting primarily of one extended chase scene.

as with the original, lots of freaks, albinos, deformity, midgets, homoerotic leather boys, mutant vehicles, spray paint huffing, grotesque injuries, and some explosions, culminating in a final, over the top cirque du soleil stylized ballet of destruction and mayhem.

Comparatively little dialogue or character exposition so don't expect much.

most memorable cast member is a dude that is chained to the front of a mutant war rig and whose sole task is to play a flamethrowing electric guitar throughout the entire movie.

were there any incidents of the F word? Any sex? I am trying to decide if I can let my 13 year old go with me. Violence is ok.

The local movie reviewer was drooling over this movie.

if the one positive of the movie that you share is that it keeps characters involved in the storyline, then you are agreeing with me that the movie is awful. but if you want to get really meta, i guess the movie also deserves credit for showing the opening and closing credits in English and also the sound editor did a good job because I could hear everything throughout the entire film.
Yes, all that too. Which makes it an OK not great movie. More Scarlett would have made it great.

Far From the Madding Crowd. Loved it, and so did my wife. I like Hardy's novels, and any period piece automatically gets bonus points. But the acting on this, in addition to the beautiful English country setting, put this into the five stars category. It also packs a surprising emotional punch. Many Hardy adaptations aren't able to fulfill the emotional promise of his novels. But this one does.

Or you could go see Mad Max and contribute to the continuing downfall of civilized society.

FIFY. I just learned that she was pregnant during the shooting and used a body double for a lot of scenes.

i think there was one F word but not sure because it was barely audible. Zero sex although there is one scene that briefly shows a nude woman sitting atop a tall tower, acting as bait to trap poor wayfaring men of grief. For maybe 3 seconds you see her butt and a brief glimpse of her boobs, both of which are fairly sexable especially given the apocalyptic wasteland standards of the day.

Charlize is missing a limb, has a shaved head, and is covered in dirt most of the movie so you won't get any skin thrills from her either.

The movie itself is a lot of hype. The visuals are cool and you get a similar sense of dystopia that existed in the first two Mad Max originals (Thunderdumb was ridiculous). From a character development standpoint, the viewer isnt given any background on Max (despite myriad flashbacks that are never explained), Furiosa has very little background, and the entire chase is based a futile attempt to escape a holocaust that is inescapable anyway. Even gasoline, the usual currency in Max's world, takes a back seat to something else this time around (no spoilers!). Go see it but be prepared to be underwhelmed overall. It isnt a bad movie, it is just a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing.......

As for your original question, there is a lot of violence, but if you are mostly concerned about the sexual content, rest assured that no harm will come to your son's meat flute.

Tom Hardy is box office magic. I really hope he gets his wish and gets to play the Punisher!

Speaking of her, I think Joss Whedon reads my posts here and took my criticism of the first movie to heart.

It is given that Black Widow is possibly the dumbest "superhero" in any of the popular super hero movies, as she has no super powers, she can die, she is helpless when locked in a jail cell, and her weapon is a .22 caliber pistol, which is basically less firepower than your average street gang member, let alone intergalactic aliens. in order to compensate for her total lack of superhuman ability, they make her adept at riding motorcycles, trucks, and construction equipment (they also empowered her with the ability to mix cocktails in the most recent movie). that would be somewhat appealing if everyone else in your group couldn't already fly on their own or leap gigantic distances without dying.

Fast forward to Avengers 2, Joss Whedon ditched Black Widow's underwhelming .22 and equipped her with some inexplicable electrical batons that dont really give her any super power, but at least look more convincing than her pistol. As usual, Black Widow is seen throughout the movie fumbling about, getting captured, needing help, stitching people up like florence Nightingale, driving big rigs and generally getting in the way of everything. Not coincidentally, the one thing she would likely be very good at and the one true help she could give to the avengers is finally recognized (albeit in a romanticized way) and written into the story with Bruce Banner. Ultimately i think Whedon is in on the joke. In what may be the worst form of crotch kick, when the world is falling apart, Joss makes Black Widow act as a glorified crossing guard, loading kids onto transports and ushering pedestrians up and down the street. Also, the most unintentionally funny scene in that otherwise stupid movie was when Black Widow and the archery dude, two "avengers," are seen driving a convertible audi through the city in order to get where they need to go. lol. losers. black widow should be killed off, which shouldnt be too difficult for various reasons.

I also would love to take my 13 yo to this, but regardless of content, if I did so, I'd be posting in the "why my wife is currently mad at me" thread for at least a week.

                            I don't know; I wouldn't mind driving around in a convertible Audi.
