  • My only quibble with JL/Walter's review is that I could watch Pia Toscano sing on American Idol all day. She's the best part about the Los Angeles Kings.

    • Walter should explore expanding his badass reviews. (expanding the coverage, not the summaries). Cliff notes of cliff notes.

      • What was the name of the movie where Julie Andrews tried to rid herself of the wholesome image by getting drunk and flaunting her boobs.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

          S.O.B.

Her husband directed. One critic noted that even her boobs looked sweet and wholesome.

There's something to be said for "wholesome hot". I've got a thing for that RC Willey girl.

The full-length documentary "In Football We Trust" explores the role football plays within the Polynesian community. The two Utah filmmakers kept the story right here in our state and followed four boys through their journey on and off the field.
From his Salt Lake City home, first-time director Tony Vainuku reflects on the past five years of his life.
“I was inspired and wanted to tell a story that could inspire the youth, that could inspire parents,” Vainuku said.
Although Polynesians' roots are in rugby, football is quickly becoming a sport of opportunity for these young boys.
"Utah is a Polynesian pipeline for football,” he added.
The film follows four local high school football players, all NFL hopefuls with the dream of using football as a way to better their lives and the lives of their families.

No idea why that was nominated for a best picture, as it must be the shallowest warconflict movie ever made.

The movie will win the award for most awkward end credit sequence ever.

You missed the fact the Man is from Texas... that is why it is up for best picture. It is like the Alan Turing movie. The reason it is up for best movie is the dude prefers donuts.

Next time just google the story rather than go to the movie like I said.

I saw it wasn't getting exceptional reviews so it's good to hear from someone I know that actually saw it. Too bad.

Last night I watched Friday Night Lights. That movie is lame. The story is shallow, there's no moral, and the acting/football scenes are ridiculous. They did capture the feeling of small-town high school football pretty well but the movie could have been much better.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. • Hercules (The Rock version) - okay B-movie with a surprisingly strong cast (John Hurt, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Aksel Hennie). Aksel Hennie's character deserves an award for least-Greek-looking Greek character in movie history.

The Interview - mediocre, with occasional funny parts.

Grand Budapest Hotel - Great. Maybe not as good as Tenenbaums or Rushmore, but still one of the best flicks I've seen in a while. Just listening to Fiennes talk in this one is a pleasure.

Michael Clayton - Great writing, great acting. Excellent movie. One of Clooney's best.

                              • Premium Rush.

Completely ridiculous as expected. It came about as a joke between my wife and me as we drove around last night collecting the coat donation boxes from the LDS chapels in Manhattan and had to be on our toes to avoid hitting several cyclists (messengers and amateurs alike). When one delivery guy cut us off, my wife just blurted out "Premium Rush!" in an mocking tone. I had completely forgotten that movie existed but it made me laugh so much we decided to get a bunch of junk food on the way home and watch it on Amazon. One of the silliest movies I've ever seen. I don't know how they convinced James Gordon-Leavit to do it.
