I always thought the bidding over aspect of Price is Right was bullshit. Who cares if someone goes over? Breaking Bad gets monster ratings:
Over ten million and a huge rating in the 18-49 demo. That's Walking Dead territory.
I think the Walking Dead and this last season of Breaking Bad will finally break the broadcast networks' backs. For years I thought cable tv series, outside of something offered by HBO, were simply something not good enough to make it on broadcast tv. That changed around four years ago when I started watching Mad Men. For more people that changed with The Walking Dead which I think led them to take a chance on Breaking Bad (that, and the fact that they could catch up on Netflix).
Think about this, the season finale in season 4 only got 1.9 million viewers. That was the awesome Walt v. Gus final episode.Part of it is based on academic grounds. During the week, I kept thinking about how he was going to use that big gun to take those guys out. I thought of that scene from Aliens where they have those massive guns attached to motion detectors. Justified's ratings just continue to improve.

The regular networks just bug me.
I mean, who is watching "Two and a half Men"? I've seen like 10 minutes of that show. It's stupid.
Yet, they're cancelling great shows like Arrested Development and Better Off Ted. It just drives me nuts.Will donate kidney for B12 membership.Comment

One of the most interesting things about the success of Breaking Bad is that had this show been done prior to the Netflix era, it never blows up. I know very few people who started watching the show on AMC in season 1. It has built by word of mouth and the ability to binge watch. Those numbers for the season 4 finale vs the series finale are staggering.Comment

No one watched AD. Sorry, just being honest. Even at the bitter end, I posted on CB that one of the best shows that no one watched was ending that night. It received 1 response.
