Mine was a gift, so I'm not sure, but I think it's a 28. I'm only 5'10", unlike the rest of you freaks of nature, but I'd go with the 36". I don't think it's as much a function of height as it is coordination. Regardless, the 36 will give you a faster head speed and more splitting power.

One thing you'll notice about the Fiskar is that it's not necessary to swing over the shoulder. You can just hold it above your head and bring it down with enough power to split most things. That makes blade placement a lot easier, so you can put it in an existing crack, etc. You guys will love this thing.

I felled a lot of trees two years ago. In the Wind Rivers, most dead trees you can just push over, especially when you have a dozen scouts to help.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Every spring. We have some wild plum trees growing next to our property.

I also spent a summer (between junior and senior years in HS) cutting timber.

I've paid guys to remove several trees from our property. Does that count?

I’m shocked this poll generated a real conversation. I’m also reminded that hostile is one of the most interesting people on the board, if not the most. Just never thought I would be reminded of that when I clicked on this poll.

I felt a tree once. The trunk was rough and abrasive, but the leaves were very smooth on my face.

I've cut down a number of trees, but never a seriously big one. I let someone else do this one for me:

I split the seat of my pants last week and thought of this thread. I guess I need to chop more wood.

                                That didn't sound right .
