I feel like you should have said "Best post of 2015 so far" seems early in the year to already be shooting down everyone's hopes of having post of the year. I bet Triplet disappears for 6-8 months again now.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostBest post of 2015.

If you think the church is bad just wait until you see what HF does to Mormons who leave the faith.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostI realize that some people don't think it's outrageous to fire someone or kick them out of school for changing religions.

I think YO was just surprised you knew somebody who had experienced this. You don't generally have any stories about people who have had negative experiences with the church or stories about church members or leaders doing bad things.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostI realize that some people don't think it's outrageous to fire someone or kick them out of school for changing religions.

I remember continuing EE being implemented around 1986 or 1987. But I could be wrong. That's when I learned that temple worthiness and living the BYU HC were not as important at BYU as attending one's assigned ward.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostHave they always done ecclesiastical endorsements? And they didn't just get kicked out of school, but they also get kicked out of their BYU-approved housing and campus job.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

I once said something positive about Mormonism to a biochemist from New Zealand. His response was: "SoonerCoug, that's nice, but you must realize that you're saying this from an insider's perspective. You're not objective."
As one of a few board members who has gone from inside the church to the outside, I can say that this particular New Zealander was right.
It is impossible to appreciate how much better life is without the Church until one actually tries leaving it. I implore everyone on this board to exercise even a particle of faith in my words, that this particle might be like unto a seed, which swells and grows within your hearts, even growing as a tree that bears good fruit, so that you may know that my words are true. That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. I imagine that this is what they mean by actively proseletyzing.
