I forgot. Add U2 to my list although they weren't a techno band.

How could I forget New Order?!?
My Mt. Rushmore of new wave: Depeche Mode, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, and New Order. I appreciated the Cure, but I didn't love them.

I love the Cure long time. All those other post-punk bands are sub-cure in my book.

Maybe this belongs in the map thread? Behold the awesomeness.

Also forgot The Smiths, which omission is a capital offense.

Why do you want to bring gay slurs into it?

The Cult is much better than the Cure, but I don't see the connection between the two. too different, imo.
                    I'm like LeBron James.

From a sonic perspective early Cult had quite a bit in common with The Cure.

I was more into the electronic bands back then. The Cure is more of a 'solid' band IMO. They do have some great stuff, but it wasn't what I was in to.

While I can accept a personal preference for this, there's no question as to which is the most influential in the alternative landscape, and it's not The Cult. Personally there are few albums that exceed The Cure's Disintegration.

Robert Smith has something going there. You either get it or you don't. I don't know that I've ever burned one calorie trying to convince anybody to like the Cure.
