Forbes Magazine comes out with lists of bests cities for jobs for 2013. SLC is ranked #3 among big cities and Provo/Orem is ranked #2 in midsize cities.

The report noted that Provo's $16 billion economy was bolstered by Brigham Young University — the third-largest private college by enrollment in the nation. In 2010, the school ranked behind only the University of Utah and MIT in the number of startup companies produced through university research.

Forbes said Provo also enjoyed the third best job growth in the country last year at 3 percent, as well as the lowest violent crime rate in the U.S.

There has been an insane number of Utah commercials on TV lately. The commercials show all these national parks, and I haven't been to a single one.

Just out of curiosity, Utah pride aside, why not? Most out of staters love the parks here. Except for DDD, who hates dirt. (seriously--I can see people being turned off by Utah's NP's if they're not desert types)

I'm not a desert-type, but I love the Utah National Parks. I could never live there, as I like trees too much, but I love to visit. One of our favorite family vacations was a trip to Bryce with our kids a few years ago. Boulder and Escalante 2 years ago was also a great trip. Zions is next in a couple of years (hopefully).

I've lived in Utah for more than a dozen years, and lived right next door to Utah my whole life, and I couldn't have told you that Boulder and Escalante are national parks and can't tell you now where they are located. A little embarrassing, but I'm not sure what I'd do there if I did go.
