OK, but how is this any kind of advantage? I.e., why would outlawing this make it harder? It seems like allowing this would waste a turn and make it more difficult in the long run to score in fewer guesses.

Seems like DH should be a fan of this. Kind of like starting with a bad initial guess.

I'm just saying that in periods of weakness or laziness, I've been known to reuse a letter that has been eliminated by a previous guess, because I can't think of another word. Yes, it does waste a turn and it makes your stats worse. But for those of us who run in the wordle minor leagues, it does happen from time to time.
