Which of the following is true. - You decide.

    1. - I decided to do a water endurance test on my GSIII. In a load of darks, I tossed my GSIII into the washer just to see how it would holds up, and then report the results back here on CUF.

    2. - What the Hell!! - My Phone is at the bottom of the washing machine Must have been those sweat pants I was wearing this morning. Damn.

I've taken it apart as much as I can, and am drying it out for 24 hours. We'll see how it turns out.

Stick it in a bag of rice. Seriously.

It wouldn't ruin the rice if you plan on cooking the rice shortly thereafter.

Couldn't wait anymore for JB to come to me OTA. So I manually updated. Except I couldn't do it because there was a check sum error because I replaced the Google Seach Widget with the original one when they nerfed a few updates ago. After searching for the nerfed files for about an hour online last night I gave up and just unrooted and restored to stock. Then I updated OTA until the latest software update and then manually updated to Jelly Bean.

I like JB a lot. The settings functions in the notification bar are awesome. Also I like the expandable notifications. Seems very smooth. But by far the best update is Google Now. Having played with Siri quite a bit, Google Now is right there with it, probably a bit better. I love having the cards right there. Traffic, instant weather, scores, everything. It's a really nice product.

I have heard some issues with root users being able to tether. I have not tried yet. I am sure it will be a few days before it is worked out. Other than that, no complaints. Jelly Bean is a nice improvement over ICS. Not as big a change as Gingerbread to ICS but worthwhile.

FYI, Verizon has a 1 year warranty on phones that does not cover washing machines. For $299 they can give you a refurbished GSIII, but you have to send in your old phone. That's $300 down the drain if there ever was...

Figured I'd pimp a few apps I've been using a lot.
                  • Astrid - Nice task manager
                  • BSPlayer - Best media player I've used. Works well streaming files on the lan.
                  • Glympse - Share your location for a set time with specific people. No app or log in required on the receiving end. Just a web browser and an internet connection.
                  • Settle Up - great way to track group expenses
                  • Solid Explorer - Best file manager I've used
                  • Onavo Count - If you have a need to track your mobile data usage or limit certain apps this will do it.
                  • Disk Usage - gives you a graphical display on what is using your storage space
                  • Poweramp - Great music player. My favorite feature is that it will automatically pause and resume on headphone or bluetooth disconnect/connect.

Sprint would give you a brand new one for $35.00. :-)

I am phone-less for the next 10 days while Samsung replaces my screen.

This phone is rad but it looks like a lot of people have broken the glass. I dropped my Droid X so many times without a crack that I have to think the plastic body has something to do with the easy breaking. They should have gone with a stronger body.

So I'm using my iPad for my calendar and to do list. Two observations:
                      1) iOS calendar syncing with google calendar sucks. Spotty and totally unpredictable. But Apple is so in love with it that I can't delete it off the home screen.
                      2) gtasks on iOS sucks too.
                      3) I already miss widgets.
                      4) I miss Swype even more.

                      I want my phone back.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Man down 48 hours. How's it possible to miss something so much that 6 weeks ago I was without. Doesn't make sense, but it's true. Out on the road today I had to make do with my wife's iphone 4s. She's had like 50 emails sent to her in the last 5 days , from some dude Ryan. Makes me suspicious of her private life activity. I also recently learned, she she gave him $1,000 behind my back, and he's trying to shake her down for even more. I need a nap.

Wait, WTF? You're joking, right? At lease her iPhone 4s doesn't have NFC, so you know she hasn't been inappropriately touching phones with the guy.
