        Let's see:

Revenue in the Americas up from Q2 2016.
        Revenue in Europe up.
        Revenue in Japan up.
Revenue in the rest of Asia Pacific up.
Revenue in Greater China... WTF! Down?!?

I blame United Airlines for dragging that poor chinese dude off the plane for causing a boycott of fine American products in Greater China!

        United Airlines

FYI, AA stock has dropped more since announcing employee pay raises than United ever did after beating up that dude.

Hopefully AAPL can keep its labor costs contained.

            Yeah, like Walmart...

Note Hidden In Walmart Purse Describes Inhumane Conditions In Chinese Prison

An Arizona woman’s purchase has weighed on her conscience ever since she discovered a chilling note folded up inside, she says.

Christel Wallace opened a zippered pouch in her new Walmart handbag in March and found a mysterious note written in Chinese, The Arizona Daily Star reported on Saturday.

After her daughter-in-law helped her locate a translator, Wallace learned the note was a cry for help describing conditions at a prison in Guangxi, China.

The unidentified person said prisoners work 14-hour days without breaks, endure beatings for unfinished work, and have medical treatment docked from their already-meager pay.

“Being a prisoner in China is even worse than being a horse, cow, sheep, pig or dog in the U.S.,” reads the letter, translated by HuffPost.

“My heart went into my stomach,” Wallace told the Daily Star.

AAPL closed up 0.63% today which beat the SP 500.

Agree, Walmart does a great job of keeping its US operating costs low. And based on my experience with Apple software, I have concluded that Apple engineers are overpaid.

Didn't know where to put this, and thought maybe it belongs here in this thread. Increasingly, I believe Apple is an evil empire, especially with their new line of laptops, but the original evil empire is and always will be:

Google loses Android battle and could owe Oracle billions of dollars

Oracle may get about $9b over this... Not bad considering that they only paid about $5.6b for Sun. Of course, Oracle has killed off most everything Sun had including Solaris (it's OS) and Sparc (it's CPU architecture). About the only thing left is Java.

Google tried to do a co-development deal for Java with Sun back in 2005 but the two couldn't come to an agreement. So Google figured it wouldn't get in trouble since they give Android away (in theory). Google, however, gets revenue from Android via advertisement sales, its ad code embedded in the OS. Sun was initially OK with giving Google a "pass" on android's use of the Java APIs but that all changed when Oracle purchased Sun. Apparently Oracle wanted a return on its investment.

Google should have approached Apple and licensed its iOS App (UIKit) API. That would have saved app developers lots of grief in maintaining both Android and iOS ports of their apps. Some app developers use C++ for their non-UI code so that most of the app code can be shared between the two platforms. For example, DropBox.

I am guessing Google would have paid a lot less than ~$9b for licensing the UIKit API from Apple.
