How many here are former Cougarboard users?

I've seen this board mentioned on Cougarboard a few times by people who were saying that they were no longer going to use CB, but I never took the time to come check this place out.

After receiving warnings multiple times for absolutely silly things the last couple of months and then being given a multiple day suspension because I said I like Bangkok (yes, that is all I wrote and yes, Bangkok is a really cool city in which I've spent a decent amount of time), I decided I should probably check out this place.

I immediately recognized a bunch of names so I'm guessing that this is kind of a refuge for people who are mature enough to recognize that Bangkok is the name of a very major city rather than an infantile dirty joke. Am I right?

I wouldn't call it a refuge, but graduation. You have to have a bigger view than "the campus is my world".

I'm sure El Jefe is a great guy (he even just commuted my sentence after I appealed the Bangkok thing), but it's starting to feel like you have to walk on eggshells over there when you post and I am not a crude person at all.

Well I think it's heavy handed when you get warnings for "naughty" words and for posting a poll about if you obeyed the honor code all the time while you were at BYU. Which in reality was meant to show that the students at BYU don't even follow that all the time, so why should the football team be held to some higher standard.

I get that moderation could be needed on some sites. That said, most people are grown ups and can handle themselves.

You mean people like me....who initiated the post about Bangkok, the post to which

you were referring. Well, my journey to the dark side is complete. I love CB's format for quick responses/"slice of life" communication. I'm not nearly into the deep, drawn-out discussions which seem to be better accommodated by CUF's format.

So.....what can I do to make CUF's format more readable for guys like me with attention spans of 45 seconds (that make me above average for the typical american voter, whose span is 10 to 30-second sound bites long)?

I was hoping to have had someone step forward yesterday on CB and volunteer to give me their email address so that I could, on occasion, email them a question I wanted to ask on CB. Sadly, no one did. So Jefe, after reading my post, properly discerned that I really didn't want to have the capability to post there anymore and he gave me a 100-year ban. It came a few posts earlier than I had hoped (since I was planning to make sure my final post would've been a DOOZY!), but that's okay. I've found over the past several months that my patience with some has waned to the point that it became counterproductive to my work to allow me to interact with the fools.

So, to answer your question, I am a complete and total "former Cougarboard user" now. I will still read it, but I can no longer use it (again, my choice to quit, just in Jefe's time).
