Flunking the driver's license test

Could be worse; I'm probably the only person in the country who failed my driver test once because I hit the car next to me pulling out of the parking lot to start the test, and the second time because I ran a red light during the test.

I failed for running a red light, too. I was in the intersection when the light turned yellow, but it went red immediately, and the instructor's rule was that if he saw it turn red, you ran it.

Before I get any more crap, my ACT score was 32, GMAT score 99 percentile, and when I do IQ practice tests, it's MENSA level (granted they are practice and not legit). And sure, that might be a humble brag. I am good at taking tests. And I know how to drive. I'm pissed.

Apparently the GMAT is an easier test than I thought. Sounds like MENSA has lowered their standards.

The ability to pass the written test isn't really reflective of one's ability to actually drive a car so you could be right on that one.

But how can jay santos be a good standardized test taker if he has failed the DMV test multiple times, and being careful at that? Is there a more basic standardized test in the country than the DMV test? Is there another test that is more frequently taken than it?

The fact that 16 year olds pass this test all the time, makes this even more funny. Does Jay need a tutor? Maybe those high school kids are just more likely to pass because they take so many tests. Some MENSA needs to figure this out for us.

My grandmother has passed that test, also. Maybe she was extra careful when answering multiple choice brain teasers such as, "how fast should you drive in a construction zone?" or "when all four cars arrive at an intersection, which car has the right of way?"

There was nothing on there about what is the next number in a sequence. It was all this bullshit about driving laws.

When I have to take a DMV test - such as when I moved to California and had to take both the car and motorcycle written tests - I sat down and read the driver's handbook right before the test. After all, who memorizes how far you can park from a railroad crossing, how far behind an emergency vehicle with lights on you must drive, and the BAC numbers?

I've found it fairly easy to pass those tests after spending half an hour studying the booklet that the questions are based on.


However, back in high school when I went in for my motorcycle learner's permit, I hadn't studied anything at all and got 100% on that one. I think it was more common sense back then. I would have to brush up to pass the current written test.
