I may be glib, but I know the history of psychiatry! And ritalin is a street drug. Did you know that?

Seriously, has there been a worse press junket, ever? I bet the producers were STOKED that he had all this free media to promote the movie and he spends it all talking about post-partum depression.

"Hey, Tom, you might want to promote the film a little, you know? We kinda paid you a lot of money to be in it."

"OK, but I really wanted to talk about Brooke Shields instead. How about if I split the time between War of the Worlds and Brooke Shields?"

"No, we really would rather you talk mostly about War of the Worlds."

"OK. How about if I talk about War of the Worlds, but in the context of my Scientology beliefs and post-partum depression as a facade for drug addiction?"

"That *could* work, but for now, why not just talk about War of the Worlds? Look, we will make it really easy for you. We will even send you off with a few clips from the movie. All you really have to do is show up and tell people to go see War of the Worlds. Do you understand, Tom? WAR OF THE WORLDS."

"OK, I think I understand. You want me to talk about Ritalin and psychiatry, right?"

From the sound to the voice to the set....everything about it was completely awful. A clean version of it has all but disappeared from the web, and with little surprise. Most copies today have been truncated and altered to make it skip all over the place.
That Connie Chung abomination was hilariously awkward. Seriously, I had no idea what was going on. I saw it live on tv and I was absolutely perplexed.

Many initial interviews in academia, particularly any discipline associated with the Modern Language Association, take place in hotel rooms. To the point that the MLA has recommended that each participant in the interview (committees can include as many as five in some cases) has a chair and does not sit on a bed. One of my old professors always loved telling a story about how he interviewed while sitting on a bed, said it made him feel like a porn star.

Cruise's career has never been the same since, probably because a majority of women now hate him. Mission Impossible 3 was pretty good and should have done better than it did (even though it still did okay). He's been making some efforts recently to appear a bit more normal.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

                That's funny.

I haven't had that "opportunity" since so I just assumed that D&T was trying to sift out the women by asking them to sit in a hotel room with a strange man for half an hour when they could have just interviewed on campus like everyone else. Since I was employed after graduation, I hadn't thought about in a long time but the thread title reminded me of the experience.

He stopped pushing the Scientology, which has helped.

Unfortunately, he has kidnapped his wife and made her cut her hair to look like a man. That has not helped much.

One of them has got to be TK's interview with Bronco when he played the video of Holly explaining how Bronco proposed. I was afraid Bronco was going to kill TK right there.
