Most awkward interview you've ever scene?

    My top three:

    1. The Matt Lauer interview of Larry Craig. Craig was a major ass for having his wife sit there during the interview.

    2. Michael Richards's appearance on Dave Letterman right after the racist rant.

    3. Ted Haggard on Oprah (this could have been the weirdest interview of all, but I only saw clips of it).

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I watched all of the Haggard/Oprah interview. That thing was insanely awkward and creepy.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Letterman interviewed Simon and Garfunkel together a couple of years ago. It was super awkward because it was pretty clear S and G want very little to do with one another.

Dang. I thought this was going to be an opportunity to discuss my job interview with Deloitte & Touche that took place in a hotel room. It had a sitting area, but it was not a separate room, and it felt very awkward to me.

        Back to Larry Craig.

I just saw a part where Haggard says something like "you know, I wondered after this incident if I was really gay. I thought about it for awhile and I came to the conclusion that I wasn't."

Haggard is one messed up, yet fascinating character. I highly recommend this documentary:

It might not be the MOST awkward interview ever, given the relative unimportance of the subject matter, but Evan O'Dorney will always have a special place in my heart.

                        Crispin Glover on David Letterman.

Geraldo Rivera hosting Tom Metzgar and other White Supremacists, resulting in on-set fistfight, chair gets thrown, Geraldo breaks his nose.

Tom Cruise talking to Matt Lauer about drugs, pregnancy, depression, Brooke Shields, Ritalin, and just about everything BUT War of the Worlds.

And whatever the hell you want to call that "Thanks For the Memories" thing that Connie Chung did to sign off on the last night of her show. That one managed to make everyone in America uncomfortable. Literally one of the worst scripted moments in television history, if not the absolute worst. From the sound to the voice to the set....everything about it was completely awful. A clean version of it has all but disappeared from the web, and with little surprise. Most copies today have been truncated and altered to make it skip all over the place.
                        Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Letterman seems to be involved in a lot of these things. Madonna and Joaquin Phoenix also come to mind.
