Definitely a peasant.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI don’t think I’ve ever had a shirt dry cleaned
My mission president, a partner at Arthur Anderson (before they went tits up, of course) told me that I should always have my shirts laundered if I was a professional.
Sorry to hear that my Mission President didn't consider you, a BYU accounting grad, a professional.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I’ve lived my life by the motto of doing the exact opposite of any Arthur Andersen partners and that has served me well in my life.Originally posted by falafel View Post

Living the life of an Arthur Anderson partner (pre-Enron collapse) seemed to fit my Mission Prez well as well.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I think laundered shirts are great. Especially if you’re in court or you have to sell your product or services to clients. But I don’t have the logistical fortitude to drop off and pick them up and keep the supply chain unbroken.

Do you really have them dry cleaned (i.e. soaked in some non-water solvent) or do you just have them professionally laundered?Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI may give them a look. I've been pretty solidly Charles Tyrwhitt for about 15 years, but I think they have lowered their quality in the last few years to try to maintain their familiar price point, and I'm not loving it. $55 feels like the right price for a quality dress shirt right now. But I'll still get them dry cleaned. I'm not a peasant.

Sadly, I'm revoking this endorsement.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostAfter being devoted to Brooks Brothers non-iron pinpoint Oxford shirts for two decades, I’ve switched allegiances (at least for white shirts. Roundtree & York Gold Label (Dillard’s brand), spread collar, fitted cut is my new #1. They come out of the dryer looking like a million bucks, and full price are $55 (and you can snag them on sale a few times a year).
After 10 months, all three shirts started to fray along the edge of the collar and/or the area by the buttons. Pretty disappointed in the lack of longevity.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

Yeah, I feel like they are your dad's (aka, one's dad's) go-to shirt for church, etc. If you are wearing dress shirts daily, or even semi-weekly, a more robust product is necessary.Originally posted by Green Monstah View Post

I recently bought a shirt from Proper Cloth. Its a DTC custom shirtmaker. Its way more pricey than Roundtree & Yorke (as well as CT), but you can really dial in the fit and the fabrics are top notch. I am moving into the era of buying fewer items of very good quality over more items of inferior quality.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
