It's fortunate that the day is so close to General Conference so that if you do manage to trick someone, they'd only go a day or two spreading false information before Pres. Monson straightened everyone out from the pulpit.

I have to add the caveat to your underlined statement that if your kids are still under the age of 14, you can certainly help them prank someone over the age of 14.

My favorite April Fools was several years ago when my oldest two were still pretty young. April 1 was on a Sunday - so it was conference. My kids got up early, and we decided to prank their mom by moving all the clocks forward an hour. When she woke up at 8:30, she thought it was 9:30 and was in a hurry to get breakfast done before conference started. She couldn't figure out why the kids were so giggly or why I wouldn't help her hurry and get breakfast ready. The kids really got a kick out of pranking their mom, and we all had a good laugh when they finally told her the joke.

It was fun. Even an ornery old man would've enjoyed the smiles on those kids faces.
