My wife is currently battling the craziness at Walmart. Should be interesting to hear the war stories."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I went to the local Wal. I had to park 2 blocks away. I walked inside, saw the insane crowds, walked with the flow of traffic towards the back, out the exit, and back to my car. It took almost 15 minutes to make it to the exit because there were so many people jammed in there.
On my way through the store, I noticed lots of toys, bedding, crock pots, and it seemed like everyone was buying those huge electric cars that kids can sit in and drive. This is the stuff people camp out to buy?
Back home and relaxing. Looks like I will shop at my leisure but pay $15 more for that crock pot.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I went to Wal Mart last year around midnight and vowed never to do it again. I found the whole thing kind of depressing. They should call it Fall of Saigon Friday.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Did anyone else brave the elements and the crowds through the night? If so, you are a better person than I. Actually, you are probably a better person regardless, but I'd be interested in tales from black Friday.
My plan for today includes watching BYU basketball, getting my car washed, and ending the night watching ASU lose another game. It might be fun to go to offbeat places and ask of steep Black Friday discounts....dry cleaners. Pet store. Chinese restaurant.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

No. It's not a LEGO brand one.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostDone. Thanks. 1600 bricks for $30 is a really great deal. Insane.

It's this:
Still the cheapest I could find this one online was $100 shipped. Plus the guy threw in about 200 Duplo blocks. So I think $40 was still a great deal. I was worried about buying toys online like that, but I was set at ease when I pulled up to half million dollar home in a nice neighborhood and the family was Asian.

It looks like just random 1600 pieces. From the pics on the box you get roof pieces a few other angled pieces, bricks with eyes, but mostly random sized bricks in various colors. As far as I can tell this is a pretty good deal if you need filler bricks.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostOn that Lego thing what kind of Lego's do you get I can see a picture on my phone. I'm thinking we might get those for the FiL.
I thought of your FIL the other week when we were at the LEGO store. There was this guy who was filling his cup brick by brick to maximize the amount he got. It was pretty funny to see this grown guy doing that."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I bet. The guy had a system down. He started by lining the sides with wheels. Then he had some other specialty pieces go in the middle until the height of the wheels and repeated this layer by layer. I don't know what he was building with so many wheels. Made me curious. I probably just watched him for about 5 minutes. If Gidget caught me she would have scolded me not to stare. It was pretty fascinating to watch this 40+ year old guy be so meticulous.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostIt is only funny when you aren't having to help fill buckets."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

They will teach you how to pack the cups to maximize. At Xmastime, they sell gift boxes, which are perfect because it is a snap to pack a small box with bricks.
The wheels are a premium item. Wheels and minifigs have high resale value. I always grab as many wheels as I can. It is almost a w.a.s.t.e to put bricks in those cups because bricks are the easiest thing to buy elsewhere. Wheels are tough to find as are the other weird misc items you can buy at Lego stores.....doorways, seats, steering wheels, antennae, flowers, or specialized bricks...the clear ones, the gold ones, etc.
Since there is no Lego store here in Utah I have to get my fill online, buying bags of bricks by the pound. I have found that to generally be the best value and the reputable sellers will do a good job of making sure you dont get off brand or Duplo bricks mixed in with the regular bricks.Fitter. Happier. Wow. BUY. Great deal.Originally posted by cougjunkie View Post6 quart 575 watt kitchen aid mixers only 209.99 on Amazon today.
Also, for those with chilluns that now have Muppet Mania, Disney Store is selling the large Muppet plush (16-18 inch) for around $16 each. Pretty good deal and they look great in real life. If you can't make it to the Diz store in person, buy them online. I think the movie will cause a run on these before X-mas. I picked up Kermit, Fozzie, and Beaker.
