The exhilaration of standing on the summit of a mountain catching the breeze on your face.

Floating through fresh powder while skiing.

Reading a good book on the beach.

Catching a wave and riding it to the sand only to be its final disbursement of energy.

But there's nothing like coming home from a crappy day at the office and being welcomed by my daughters with hugs, kisses and shouts of joy. I know that will end some day and I already miss it.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Lying in the corner of our sectional couch with 1-4 of our kids watching The Simpson's.

Riding my scooter through Tokyo. It always cut through my stress immediately and brought instant joy into my life.

Going for a drive in a spotlessly clean car.

            Good list.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

When your ears are clogged when you have a cold and some random yawn or swallow releases the pressure. The cold sucks, but the release of pressure feels good.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

When Gabers and I were first married we lived in an attic apartment on 13th east at about 2nd south that had access to a large roof area. From where that house stands it is more or less all down hill until you reach the valley floor so there was nothing obstructing our view of the entire city, the airport, the lake, etc. I live in a place now that has many more thunder storms, but there is nothing I have seen that compares to watching a lightning storm cross the lak from that vantage point. Just incredible.

Cuddling with my kids when they wake up.

Any act of creation -- sex, writing, gardening, etc. (And Uchtdorf totally deflated this for me and has made it now cliche to say (kind of like "tender mercies"), but it's always been one of my keenest senses, the feeling I get when I'm being creative).

I lived in an apartment in the Warehouse District in Cleveland for about a year. I spent my evenings at the sitting area on the roof top. I witnessed the best/mot impressive storms and lightning shows I had seen since a kid in the Sierra Nevadas.

My maternal grandfather was a rancher that homesteaded in Smith, Nevada. He would take his cattle to the BLM land that he leased that was nestled in the Sierras. Great childhood memories of cattle drives, brandings, sweet breads with over easy eggs and Rocky Mountain oysters.
