The rain is coming down so hard that my pool level is increasing even though we have a 2" diameter drain that leads to the French drains. Water is pouring into the street from the end of the drain. Not let up yet today. Hoping things calm down later in the day.

Looks like I'm working from home tomorrow. Underneath where it says "Be Someone" is I-45, which I take in to work. There's usually at least 13-14 feet or more of clearance below the "Be Someone" lettering. The kids school district just got cancelled for the entire week.

Path projections are showing this one is going back out to sea then heading straight to H-Town for round two. It might be time to break out your kayaks and take on the white water going down the streets.Originally posted by Moliere View PostThe rain is coming down so hard that my pool level is increasing even though we have a 2" diameter drain that leads to the French drains. Rain stopped from 1am to about 8am but it's back to a moderate rain right now. The wind has picked up as the storm moves closer to Houston. It does look like the track has shifted to take the storm east of Houston, which is a huge deal as it could lessen the amount of rain we will get. Every bayou/creek is over its banks. We had a number of people in the stake evacuated last night and relocated to other homes. We border Cypress Creek and those same homes came close to flooding during the tax day floods last year, but this flooding is much worse.
The Moliere house is safe and dry so far. School has been cancelled for the entire week. We can't really drive anywhere since the major streets all have high, standing water. My kids actually want to go to school just to get out of the house. If anyone doesn't have plans next weekend or the weekend after, feel free to drive down with shovels, crowbars, and wheelbarrows and you can help muck houses

Glad you are staying dry. Any of these guys washing up out of the bayou and into your driveway yet?

BTW, Moli, hopefully your internet stays up long enough that you can send me your e-tickets to the game. Maybe for safe keeping you should just send me the tickets now."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

The temple has flooded. Reports are that there's two feet of water in the temple. Where are the three Nephites when you need them

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
